My pastor recently gave a thumbs down to THE END OF THE SPEAR movie, for obvious reasons in my opinion. I would find it interesting to see the different pastors stand.

I assume that only pastors are to vote. What is the obvious reason?

It is (from all I've been told) a wonderful movie in the genre of "Chariots of Fire". ANY positive leaven of our faith in society is a GOOD thing.

It has sinful actors - do you know the immorality of those in "Passion" or "Chariots"?

It has native nudity - as do almost any film about nude natives.

Those would not dissuade me, if I were a movie-going type. I don't go to any, but will watch "Spear" the first day it comes out on DVD.

I do not watch Andy Griffith Shows because Of Jim Nabors who I know is a Homosexual and was one of the first "out of the closet". I may have "one" in my choir but if I did I would surly get out of it. prior knowledge is the key. Also I did not see THE PASSION of CHRIST.

i think the story is bigger than the person playing the role.

Is the "obvious" reason that one of the actors is gay?

    Berean,

Jim Neighbors is not a homosexual. In fact, he's a Christian. There is no shortage of people who keep spreading this rumor, and this is a good example of why we need to refrain from rumor and gossip.

However, Robert Reed was gay, and will still enjoy the Brady Bunch whenever it's on.

    Just curious....
Do you also do that with every show or movie that has actors commiting adultery or sex out side of marriage? Or is it only homosexuality?

If a practicing homosexual was in your choir, then that would mean they were a member of your church, I assume. That would obviously be wrong. Just like any member that is practicing sexual sin.
I would say that's alot different than going to see a movie that has a homosexual in it.

Or, for that matter, any membr that is practicing any sin. Oh wait, that's all of us.

But since Jim Nabors isn't gay, the "Gomer Pyle" point is moot.
