The easter chicks thread brought this to mind....

As a kid, my grandparents took my sister and me to the indian reservation/tourist trap in Cherokee, NC. I vividly remember putting a quarter in the slot of a cage which contained a live chicken. I then played the chicken in a game of tic tac toe. The chicken won, whereupon he received a bowl of chicken feed.

For years, I told people about this and they thought I was crazy or lying.

Several years ago, I confirmed that such a thing is possible when a similar group of chickens came to the Philadelphia county fair and the story of their "ability" was featured in the Philadelphia Inquirer. Then, in 2005, I took my new bride to Cherokee on our honeymoon. The town is now a less family oriented place as the casinos have moved in and much of the tourist trap stuff was long gone, including the tic tac toe chickens. However, a store owner confirmed that the chickens used to be there and even pointed out the deck where they were displayed.

Has anyone else on the BB ever played a chicken in a game of tic tac toe?

Yes. Probably the same chicken as I did as a kid. For a while, it damaged my poor little self esteem (of course I didn't know what a self esteem was at the time). Eventually I got over it.

I haven't, but I watched my husband get beat 3 games in a row. LOL They used to have one in Arthur, IL, at the Amish settlement.
