About as much as he's botching the handling after the fact. Slive has him in his crosshairs, and Lanie has no one to blame but himself.

This is for Dr.Bob, you seems to think the NIV,(and by extension the TNIV) is a dynamic-equivalent translation. In this older thread I have proven that it lines up rather well with the NASB so well that it should be categorized as formally equivalent for the book of 1 Peter.

I'm not Dr. Bob (and he is thankful) but I'd just offer this: as said before, definitions of translations are somewhat static and can mean different things to different folks (The ESV and HCSB translators seem to like to coin their own). I don't think that we can say since the NIV/TNIV = NASB in X number of places, that makes the NIV/TNIV a certain defined translation category any more than by pointing out where the ESV = TNIV/NIV that this makes the ESV a mediating or DE translation. Most every translation utilizes formal equivalence and dynamic models, based on the pericope. Some do it more than others.

I have a question I'll pose in another forum.
