Just a weird story. Anonymous says this was NOT their list and that they will release their list on Thursday.

Nobody was outed. The list doesn't even make sense considering some of the names and the initiatives they have championed.

I also find the list hard to believe. This is not the late 40s-early 50s. The era when Robert Byrd joined the Klan. Today with opposition research, I tend to think their political opponents would have bashed over the head with any scent of Klan membership.

    according to snopes.com http://www.snopes.com/anonymous-opkkk/#!

However, the articles cited documents published anonymously to the site Pastebin, to which anyone may upload text-based content. And as with any Anonymous-linked operation, anyone is also free to claim affiliation with the group and release information, falsely claiming that data was collected as part of an effort by the collective — which is just what the similarly large Twitter account @YourAnonNews cautioned the media to be mindful of:

The linked tweet didn't post, but it's a reminder that any yahoo can post anonymous info about anyone on anything.
