I only saw a couple of high points but otherwise, it was a sleeper for me. :sleeping_2:

I hate both health care plans - totally. Neither one obviously has a clue.

    So, what say you?

Both need a clue on health care plans.

Tonight's debate was the best of the three POTUS debates but still paled in comparison to the Palin/Biden debate. I think McCain whipped Obama in the first third while Obama held his own in the final two thirds. McCain easily won this debate. Obama appeared flustered, off message, and annoyed at the moderator even at times. I have to wonder if this is enough to turn McCain's campaign around. May be too little, too late. But at least we know McCain's capable of a good performance. So they left the debates with each winning one and a tie.

Just in case you're keeping score, we made it through the debates without ONE question on immigration reform. Not one. Amazing.

    Totally agree. Heath plans? Pathetic.

I do not make political comments 15 Oct to 15 Nov.
Nothing that happens in that time can change my vote,
    my vote is already determined.
I don't even necessarily want to convert someone to
my POV = point of view

I hereby boycott this Forum until 15 Nov 2008

This is probably the most accurate summary one can have. This one was a real snoozer.

I think this is fairly accurate. I think Joe the plummer was the only winner tonight but I'm confused what he won.

I noticed this also and am very disappointed. I don't know what we'll do with this influx of immigrants and thoughts on making the border secure. I terrorist can walk right in from Mexico and stand a high chance of getting in. How can we address national security and not mention the border?

Isn't OK something like 80% red? If you're not voting for McCain then I hope there are other ballot issues you find important...

I almost wish that Palin and Obama would debate. At least it would be lively. :BangHead: I didn't even microwave popcorn tonight. It wasn't worth the effort.:tear:

Has the topic even come up for any decent discussion? I've not seen any though I avoided the first two debates.

That is one of the health care issues here, they have flooded the system. Hours to get to a doctor in an emergency room and the state health care system for the poor is swamped. They can't even ask about resident status, if someone comes in they have to sign them up if they qualify.

My best friend is a Pastor and has no health insurance. His wife had calcium building up in her arteries but the hospital couldn't do the stint surgery because the system was low on money. They explained the load from the illegal immigrants has basically inundated Medicare to the point of being broke. A few weeks later she passed out which allowed them to do the surgery because it was no longer considered preventive.

I don't mind taking care of illegal aliens but 1. now that they are identified they should be deported and 2. Americans should take priority when it comes to dishing out the dollars 3. we should take our money back from the trade transactions so their country will be supporting their citizens at our price. It might encourage them to keep their citizens on their side of the line.

I work the midnight shift and had slept some through the day, and was going to catch the debate after Bible study. I made it about 5 minutes before I was out like a light. It sounds like nothing was missed.

Maybe I will skip it when it is on here in about an hour and a half.

I would love for us to one day have a candidate for president that I could get excited about.

Amen and Amen. I have been saying that for a long time now.

I saw some clips this morning on CNN International and BBC. McCain looked like a grouchy, complaining old man. Obama kept his cool and look like he was in control. I doubt that many, if any, votes changed as a result of this "debate".

If they are illegal I do not see how Medicare would pay for them. Even if they are legal it would be Medicaid, if they qualified, and not Medicare. I do not doubt that is what your friend said, but I think there was a misunderstanding.

The hospital where I live runs a free clinic ... anyone who does not have insurance can come to the clinic ... no questions asked. The hospital says running a free clinic saves them money as these same patients would go to the emergency room if there was no clinic, and that would cost the hospital much more.

I am watching it now - the Roe V Wade section.

Neither, IMHO, looks at ease or worthy of leading this country. Both look unsure, uncertain, and uneasy.

I wonder how the Gods Own Party supporters will feel about McCain's clear statement that abortion would not me a litmus test for the courts?

I do think he did a good job with the truth about Obama's support for post-birth murder of failed abortions.

Not only did we not here even a scant mention of immigration, but have we heard anything about the coming economic runaway train known as social security?

I didn't want to be the first to bring this up, McCain didn't sound like he was making a strong commitment regarding Roe vs Wade. He did say a judge not feeling this was a bad decision would probably not be qualified which contradicts his statement about litmus test and selection based on ideology.
