I am dreading this evening's "debate", because things I have heard over the last few days make me think the "debate" has already been rigged to support Obama and hurt McCain:

    a. The Governor of Mississippi has stated (on Thursday) that the debate will go on, even if McCain does not show up. Isn't this like saying "We have a winner" when there is no contest?

    b. The debate site (Ole Miss) also indicated that the debate would go on, even if McCain did not appear. SAME COMMENT!

Is this the kind of "debate" KenH wants? One with no opponent for his candidate? I personally agree that I would like Obama's teleprompter to break, since then his puppet-masters cannot feed him the things to say. Let Obama speak for himself. Let McCain (who has now agreed to be at the debate) also speak for himself. DO NOT allow teleprompters for either candidate. Let's see and hear who the real presidential material is!

On a side note, which is more important? (1) Trying to do one's current job when something needs to be done, or (2) Running for the office of President of the United States. My choice? Number (1)!

    Bill :godisgood:

Neither candidate will be using a teleprompter.

I predict, Obama will use the same old tired spin about Iraq.

I predict, Obama will try to blame all the banking crisis on the Republicans, even though, as I pointed out in another thread, it was the Clinton administration that started the ball rolling at the behest of special minority groups to extend to them mortgages they could not afford.

Okay, here we go, Jim Lehrer is holding his breath.

    My contribution to the muse

    Sarah Palin and McCain
    are soon to expire
    when they feel the pain
    from headlines of the
    latest National Enquirer

McCain will drop poor ol Sarah
    and turn to Huckabee
    for a war on Terror
    against you and me

In the End Dobson will pray
    for a miracle election day
    his minions will gnash teeth
    in pain
as Obama just blows them away
and Dobson will get his rain, and
    more rain, and more rain.
Until he just floats away:godisgood: :wavey:

2nd musing:McCain forgot his flagpin ruut rooh!

On stage for millions to discern
    Obama stands tall looking you
    square in the eye
He prays for Gods will then
a confident touch on the stars and stripes
McCain looks down as if confused
    and wants to win
    but then he realizes
    He is not wearing his
    Flag Pin

Obama's advisors got it right finally after Obama was caught on video not saluting the flag or wearing a flag pin, too little too late.

McCain doesn't need to wear the stars and stripes to prove who he is. He served his country under them along with all the other brave soldiers.

Still promoting the Dobson lie about his prayer?

You mean a lower case g, right? It's certainly not the God of the Bible he prays to.

Well thank you LE for speaking to me. So far, the only ones that speak to me on this board are the ones I offend. And I am tired of offending folks.

For a while I thought I had one of those "double seacret bans" where everyone knew I was banned except for me. (like the double seacret probation in "Animal House")

Oh well, when I have 8,000 posts, or else, maybe sometime I have really profound to say, then maybe I will be recognized.

Lighten up KenH started this as fun!

I think you are not getting the theme of KenH intent here, was to have some poetic musing, perhaps write one, instead of attacking mine. Golly! lighten up and don't get frustrated actually write something.

AJ, a lot of what you say is profound (usually because I agree with it, lol).

I think there were two debates tonight. One on economy and one on foreign policy.

    Thy each won one part...

Barack made a huge mistake when he kept saying McCain was right. That sound bite will haunt him until Nov 4th.

If you have a football game on the schedule and one team doesn't show up who wins? Both Obama and McClain were in Washington today. They can go back tomorrow. It will be interesting to see if mcCain does that. That will tell why he threatened not to show up at the debate.

Proof? Why do you come up with these kinds of statements?

I disagree. It is how a gentleman acts in debate. When you agree with your opponent on a point you acknowledge it. It's how one reaches across the aisle to try to build a consensus. I wish I was more like Barack Obama in that regard myself.

The bottom line is that Senator Obama passed the commander-in-chief threshold tonight and that will no longer be an issue in this campaign.

I hope you're right, they are saying McCain already has a commercial with all those agreements strung together.

I am afraid that some of our conservative brethren don't know how to have a little fun.

They are part of the "eat your broccoli" crowd. :)

I understand why you wrote that, AJ; however, I disagree with your insinuation that Senator Obama is a Muslim.

More than how you act in a debate. It's how an effective statesman works with the loyal opposition. I'd agree that a hack politician would never do this. They would claim it shows weakness.
