Depends where you live; your perspective.
In their own countries they are "freedom-fighters."

Don, I sincerely hope I read you wrong and you did NOT just reveal yourself to be pro-Al-Quaida.....

we call them terrorists because they flew planes into two towers filled with civilians and killed 3,000 Americans.

we call them terrorists because their "way of life" involves killing anyone who does not agree with their religious beliefs.

we call them terrorists because they strap bombs to retarded children and blow up cafes.

    or have you forgotten?

Forgotten? Not hardly; I'm prepping for my third deployment to the Middle East since 2004 (this time, probably Afghanistan; waiting to hear final word).

Context, bapmom, context. Is someone who takes up arms, without officially representing their country, a veteran? That was the sidebar topic I was addressing.

Actually, the average Iraqi thinks they are a huge pain in the backside, and sees US soldiers as more of a "freedom fighter" than Al Qaeda.

Back to our regularly scheduled thread, "Too Many Doctors?" To which the answer is, YES.

I personally have no problem with conferring credit for life work and experience. The concept of "honorary degree" is stupid; if you're conferring a degree recognizing someone's life achievement, then confer an actual degree recognizing that work and experience as meeting school requirements.

I don't have a problem with a person furthering their education. I would think it's a matter of the heart. Is a person entering a doctoral program with the desire to further their knowledge of God and His word? Or is their desire to have a fancy diploma and prefix to their name?

    That is interesting.

It's also interesting that "honorary doctorate" isn't mentioned.
