    1. Do you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind?
    2. Do you love your neighbor as yourself?
    3. If you are really doing the first two, why are you always so upset about seemingly everything?

36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments
    . Matt. 22:36-40

Zac asked "why are you always so upset about seemingly everything"

I dont get upset - rather I am showing my concern

I say I love my young children - but they want to eat a full gallon of ice cream
in one night. I tell them no - am I upset - no- I am concern about them.

(not to mention I love butternut scotch ice cream)

 I understand concern Salty. But concern for WHAT? Politics divides people around two things: money and morals

The love of money, stuff and this world is tied directly to Christian political attitudes.

And an unrighteous indignation, usually about someone else's sin, seems to be the driving force around the moral conection that we think our politics should be able to fix.

If folks in the church spent a tenth of the time sharing the love of Jesus that they do sharing their indignation about someone's political affiliation or conservativeness or liberalism, there probably wouldn't be a need for folks in the church to expect politics to fix through regulation, law or otherwise, the loose morals of the country.

Jesus died on the Cross as the answer to EVERYTHING and left His supposed people to share that as the answer. But when He says HE is the answer and His "people" present their politics as the answer, then either He's not the answer or the folks who say they are His people aren't and have appointed their politics the god of their lives.

HE IS THE ANSWER. Preach the GOSPEL!!!

Dude! Seriously? Did you skip the entire section about "Preach unto the world the righteous kewlness of the US of A and how it and all it's white folk are MY people... and when others want a piece of the amen pie, kick em in the teeth and send back to the hell they came from because only fat, white, straight, American conservatives with the nicest car in the neighborhood get in My heaven?" Where you been? Silly man!

Dude, this doesn't help. You cannot constantly demand others rise above the fray, while yer busy wallowing in it.

Liberals just want to keep handing out money to those "in need"

Conservatives insist on responsibility when providing assistance.

Give a man a fish - he eats for a day.
Teach a man how to fish - he eats for a life time.

so when I dont give $$$ to a panhandler - its not because I hate him -but a true desire to help him.

Why are there so many in need to whom to hand out money? Why hasn't the CHURCH been meeting those needs? The church has continued to not do it, so why such consternation upon the money being taken and the needs being met?

And while conservatives are insisting upon responsibility, folks are going to bed hungry. The government is doing what the church led by conservatives have refused to do because of politics.

What if he doesn't catch enough fish to feed he and his family the first day? Second day? third day? etc? Will the church feed him and his family as they are being taught how to fish? Platitudes don't mean much when somebody's family is hungry and we're going back home to surburbia.

If you have a true desire to help him, then feed him. Clothe him. Give him a place to live. Treat him like you'd want to be treated in the same situation.

When Jesus was getting ready to preach to the 5000, He didn't say "teach them to fish". He replied "You give them something to eat.” Luke 9:13

I can constantly strike back at the racists who skip directly to name calling anytime someone disagrees with their neocon ideologies. The only Democrat I have voted for in my life was Zell Miller. But according to most of you people I am a pablum puking liberal pansy who is carrying Obama's water for him while marching down the street with a hammer and sickle/rainbow flag. Just as nearly every time Zaac makes a post one of the class acts immediately start with the name calling... this thread is a perfect example!

The first replies insulting Zaac and dismissing his opinion don't help either. Where is your outcry over that? Don't worry, I know exactly where it is!

I' let Zaac fight his own battles, as that is what he has requested, in no uncertain terms, and I don't have a problem with his posts. I have a problem with the term "racist" constantly being thrown around. And I don't remember anyone calling you a pabulum puking liberal, pansy who is carrying Obama's water, while marching down the street with a hammer and sickle/rainbow flag.

Wow. I hadn't noticed everyone's got their knickers in a knot. What on earth?

I made a pecan pie. It's hiding in the fellowship forum. Go eat some. Don't fight over how to pronounce "pecan" either. Then come back and play nice.
