Tract Distributer Arrested

Too nuanced a question, I surrender.

 

That is really pathetic: arresting an old guy for passing out religious tracts. The police chief can forget about getting re-elected. He has issues.

We see the ramifications of socialism and communism in history, some of it very recent (or even in the present), yet we have people clamoring for "just a little bit of it".

Look how many people favor socialized medicine, schooling, gas pricing, etc.

If the story is as presented, this should be a clear cut and dried case. The man has the right under the First Amendment to exercise free speech. Sounds like some overly aggressive law enforcement officers need to study the Constitution.

 

In a similar case that happened in the city where I used to live, similar charges were leveled. It turns out the guy was going in and out of traffic at the intersections when the light would turn red. So, he was creating a hazard to himself and others and was not simply exercising his freedoms.

I would suspect there's something similar in this case, but not necessarily.
