I know this is difficult for some to do, but I challenge others to treat each other with kindness. I know I am a drama king and have this weakness, but there are others here that can be treated with kindness and gentleness despite their weaknesses. This is a challenge I know, but lets all work together for Satan is overjoyed when Christians fight.

Excited Utterance is of no real consequence. We are human and all desire to be heard and appreciated. Those who "fight" are merely seeking an ego boost..., until their nose gets busted. Then, they tend to calm right down and be civil.

I try to be in general, I do my best to be fair in debate and try to address the topic rather than the person. Although sometimes it's easy to get caught up in the heat of the argument and then there are a few subjects that I feel very strongly on where I have to watch my attitude closely.

There is no problem with debate, and civil point-counterpoint. There is a big problem with demeaning, degrading, pure meanness and evil.

AMEN! There is no reason for a Christian to engage in foul-language and base coarseness. Only unregenerate folks dwell in those depths of depravity.

It is kind of amazing the topics that generate the greatest debate or heat. I would say free will vs. sovereignty is at the top of the list, followed by KJVO. Also, covenant vs dispy, closed communion, and end times events sometimes creates a debate.

I agree!!! For sure, I'm not a "fighter" but have decided that rather, I am a "defender". Bullies turn me off big time and I won't hesitate one minute to stand against them.

    So you retaliate.

The "bully" is the aggressor and usually they pick on the weaker. I will come to the defense of the "weaker one" in a heart beat.

...and somehow that's retaliating? Give me a break.

I can understand how he feels, as there are some posters that are experts at ringing other poster's chimes and never contributing anything to theology or debate. Their presence in essence is nothing short of evil. What is so bad, when one strikes back, it makes that person look just as bad. There is one solution and one solution only for individuals like this, and that is not responding, regardless how much they follow you around or belittle your posts.

I can understand how he feels...,

    I can fully understand too.

Not long ago I posted a thread asking the question, "Are You A Pharisee?" Almost immediately I was accused of Plagiarism and not posting a link. Then, a link was provided to THE SITE where it allegedly came from.

    Quite the contrary.

I receive a daily devotional e-mail from a semi-retired Pastor in Tennessee. Where he got it from I don't have a clue but after being accused, I did provide a link to his website.

Number one, Plagiarism is not such up and until one tries to make money off of the material. Second, I'm not aware of any legal requirement to provide any kind of a link..., to anyone? Third, apparently I touched a nerve?

This upset me and I responded back. My integrity was being challenged! Had this challenge happened face to face in church I would have assumed the same position as I did here.

There is nothing wrong with standing ones ground. For the most part all of us should ignore silly and immature gestures aimed at us but once it becomes personal there is no reason to run and hide.

Sorry, but that's how I see it. Bullies are jerks and should not get the satisfaction of walking all over another. Did our Lord run from his scoffers?

I guess you never went to high school? Didn't you get warned by teachers about plagiarism back then? It has nothing to do with making money. One would be guilty of it without making a profit at all.

In the far East plagiarism is very common and I have had to warn students that it is stealing. Use your own thoughts and ideas.

Good post! I watch that thread come down on you and agree with your assessment of it.

With that said, I'm starting to wonder if we could somehow be related now concerning your view on bullies.

Benjamin, did you read what Rippon posted, right above you?

Guess I never went to High School? Besides, grade school is where bullies cultivate their intimidation skills. Actually, I went from 3rd grade right into Nuclear Physics at Princeton. Then, into the military as an E-1 and then upon discharge, ended up in charge of Propulsion with NASA on three of the moon missions.

I'm too old for nonsense. Can't you tell? Too many rings around this old stump to mess around. On the end of my carport I've hung up a sign with a picture of a S&W .357 with the caption, "We don't dial 911". My pastor stopped by a few months ago and commented about it saying, "I like that..."

As for the bullies, Benjamin, you're right! There's no room for 'em.

The best thing to do is ignore the individual that said you never made it through high school. By responding to the question or point, you are letting it control your thoughts and actions. If something is ignored long enough, it will go away.

Sn..., I agree with you. However, the only point I'm trying to make in all of this is that the barbs thrown my way are of no consequence to me. They need to stop wasting their time if their intent is to get little 'ole me upset. Besides, when one points a finger at another, they have three pointing back at themselves.

Christians with a little age on 'em and having been blessed with a little wisdom, do not need to cower in a corner. I have never read in His Word where we are to run. Rather, we are to stand erect and face the foe(s), no matter how they present themselves.

Disagreeing with me on any topic is fine and for sure, there's more folks on this forum possessing more spiritual knowledge than I'll ever have. I'm glad for them and over the years..., have wondered why I was never chosen as other have been. Then, what comes to mind is the Lord appointed some in positions of authority and leadership and some in "helps". It's His choice. Not mine.

I hate to add fuel to the fire, particularly when I'm not party to the whole discussion, but that's not what constitutes plagiarism. It is, according to Merriam-Webster, the simple act or the practice of using another person's words or ideas without giving credit to that person; the act of plagiarizing something.

    Merriam-Webster -- Defined: plagiarism

You big bully! How dare you intimidate him with facts! You and I should let him continue on his way with his convoluted meaning of what constitutes plagiarism.
