    Do any of you have friends of family in the military we could pray for? I know that we wouldn't be Baptist if we didn't argue, but another thing Baptist are known for is cooperation. Let's make this a no argument thread. :saint:

    Thanks for asking JRG. My son (whose initials are JW) is on his second tour over there.

    Two members of our church - ES and JP, both in Iraq now. Another, KL, may be going in a year. Another, DC, is in training now.

    I will say of the LORD, my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

    Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, from the noisome pestilence.

    He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

    Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

    Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
    A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

    My Cousin, JW, is in the Army Rangers, stationed in the area (at times Afghanistan and other times Iraq). Hopefully his group will be allowed to return home just after Christmas, if only for a little while.
