Food for thought ...........
The sky is falling, the sky is falling.......!!!!!!
Good...the winters here in Florida have been a bit chilly. I for one welcome our new warm weather overlords.
Hope you also enjoy hurricanes.
Cool... With the warming troposphere thingy and the rain from the hurricanes it should really help my garden grow well. Which is great because pending inflation and rising taxes will prevent me from being able to afford to buy veggies at the grocery store.
Hurricanes are cool!
Maybe we can get enough glacier melting that California and Washington will go under water .
Funny, that site seems to be bent towards denying God exists, as well. They don't paint a very flattering picture of us bible-thumpers. Perhaps they have an agenda. We have seen recent data that tells us, tells me, one side is lieing. Is it the side that denies a loving creator ?
Food for thought.
Yeah, like all those category 5's that were going to hit the US every year?
Hey, I know a fun game we can play! Let's take a dubious idea based on junk science that is the vehicle for pushing an agenda....and let's add another dubious idea to it, so we can have more power!
And let's start a thread on it!
Even if the study is correct - what is the evidence that anything that man does would change the situation?
Did the article mention the warming being caused by man?
Why do you bring that topic up. Trying to take the thread down a separate road from the OP?
Do you doubt the accuracy of the measurements of the study?
If true, what conclusions do you draw from the study?
I did not say that the article said that man was causing it.
I asked if there was any evidence that man could do anything about it.
You seriously need to read with more care.
You brought the topic up for some reason. It is off topic for this thread. If you want to discuss that topic start a new thread. Thanks in advance.
As usual you did not answer the questions.
How can it possibly be off topic?
You did not posit a question in the OP.
What exactly would be on topic in your estimation?
As I said - you need to read with more care.
From your OP article...
"This study is one of several published this year pushing back against those who doubt the reality of climate change and the role human activities play in it."
You don't even know what the topic is of a thread that your started.
It says "pushed back against". It does not claim to prove. It is a data point. You read into things what you want to read and ignore what is really said. Now, please stop trying to derail the thread.
Do you doubt the readings taken during the study?
Where did I say that the article proved or did not prove that any warming was caused by man?
I asked if there is any evidence that man can do anything about any warming that may be occurring if there is any.
You REALLY need to read with more care.
Your OP provides an article about atmosphere warming.
I have no way of judging the merits of it.
Taking it as accurate on it's face - that there is warming of the atmosphere - my question is: Is there any evidence that man can do anything about it?
Why are you avoiding a direct question that is on topic to a discussion that you started?
Global warming is the single greatest scheme devised by sinful humans to consolidate power and redistribute wealth (ala central planning, otherwise known as Marxism) in the history of human civilization. Even the huge kings of ancient history had less glorious machinations than do our current crop of quasi-science-based world leaders.
What is greatly to be feared is global cooling, not global warming. Plants thrive in warm weather and the more plant matter the more greenhouse gas that is used, replaced by oxygen. A freeze in the wrong season will wipe out the food supply in one night.
"Off-topic" equals "messes up my pre-judged opinion."
Crabby, when you build one bad premise and hold to it (manmade global warming), closely related theories, proposed by similar entities with similar agendas are immediately suspect.
The point is entirely relevant.
Sorry, thanks for playing.
It really is funny that Crabby's OP consisted of nothing more than the words "food for thought" and his linked article...
Then every response to it is declared to be "OFF TOPIC".
I wonder if he even read his own article.
Not reading them before posting them always gets him into trouble.
