Trumps loss in 1990 was his own money. Yet he did not declare personal bankruptcy, and paid off his debts by selling off assets.

The later corporate bankruptcies were basically restructured debt. Michael Venditto (bankruptcy and commercial restructuring specialist) says,

"Chapter 11 is how you reshape and restructure a company that has problems. It doesn’t indicate anything nefarious or even bad management.

"And the alternative? What is an empty casino sitting on the Atlantic City boardwalk worth? If it’s operating and it’s got cash flow and income, it may not be able to pay back every cent on the dollar, but the creditors are better off in the long run."

In part, NJ casinos began losing money when neighboring states allowed gambling.

Or Jeff Bezos, who lost $1.41 Billion in 2000 at Amazon. And yet now he is considered a genius, and his Washington Post churns out anti-Trump propaganda daily.

Lying and cheating and stiffing subcontractors and not paying any taxes seems to be quite profitable.

Guess his answer will be to take the country through bankruptcy.

Oh you must be describing the Clintons. Amazing how Hillary turned a $1000 investment in cattle futures into $100,000 within one year. Brilliant!
Or there's the time her long lost Rose Law firm records just miraculously turned up in the Clinton W.H.

Naah we've seen their taxes for the last 30 or 40 years. We know what they pay in taxes.

The GOP must really be desperate pulling up this old story from 1978. Go back and read the story. Ain't nothing there as we all discovered back in the 1990s when the GOP first tried to make it an issue.

Stop with the deflection. It's becoming a Trump and Trump supporter calling card.

Amazon was practically a start-up back then, expanding their product lines beyond books to a whole range of things. There would be heavy losses. But Amazon is now a success, and yes, he was a brilliant visionary.

Gotta agree with you about the excessive number of hit pieces that WaPo does on Trump.

Most of it was operating losses that made it impossible to repay debt.

    Here's how Trump did it.

Borrow millions and millions of dollars to build casinos and other real estate. Organize them as S Corporations which feature pass through profit/losses to the owners. Mismanage these companies or otherwise show huge losses. Show those losses on your personal income tax returns, such as the $916 billion in 1995. Declare bankruptcy. Have almost a billion dollars in losses to offset profits for two decades, meaning you don't have to pay any personal income taxes.

Nice gig, huh? You use other people's money to show losses on your personal income taxes. All legal. And people think you are a brilliant billionaire.

The dems (and you) dig up all the old stories and allegations against Trump. Look at all the Clinton associates who've gone to jail, and yet the Clintons always manage to skate away.

Web Hubbell, one of Hillary's Rose Law firm associates, and Bill Clinton named him Associate Attorney General in 1993. Then a year later Hubbell pled guilty to stealing at least $394,000 from his Arkansas law partners and dozens of clients. He went to prison... Ms Clinton's Rose Law firm billing records were also sought by investigators, but were not to be found. Of course they later turned up in the White House.

Johnny Chung, the Chinese businessman who funneled illegal donations to Bill Clinton's 1996 re-election campaign, including a $50,000 check given to Hillary Clinton's chief of staff at the White House.

Hassan Nemazee, Iranian-American businessman who served as Hillary's national finance director during her 2008 presidential campaign. He also was a foreign policy adviser for Bill Clinton. He pleaded guilty to stealing millions of dollars to buy property, and was sentenced to 12 years in prison.

Sandy Berger, foreign policy adviser to Bill and Hillary, White House National Security Adviser. He pleaded guilty to sneaking classified records out of the National Archives in his socks.

James McDougal, Bill and Hillary Clinton's business partner in the Whitewater real estate venture. He was convicted on 18 counts of fraud and sent to prison.

Charlie Trie, who raised money for the Democratic Party and Clinton's reelection in 1996.

Trie pleaded guilty to violating federal election laws and told prosecutors how he and others funneled foreign money into the Clinton's election campaign, and had a close relationships with Chinese intelligence agencies.

And there's always plenty more where that came from :)

I haven't dug up anything. Stop trying to look for justification to vote for that man. Come up with a non-Hillary excuse.

No, of course not. But once he saw the ship was sinking that course of action must have become an alternative plan.

No you didn't do any of the digging, you just pass along whatever allegations Bezos and the others can find :)

I don't have to come up with excuses to vote for Trump. I think his positions on issues is reason enough.

One of the main issues is Hillary's intention to continue and even increase H-1B visas, importing lower cost foreign programmers and other tech specialist, putting US college grads at a disadvantage. And allowing companies such as Microsoft to bring in more foreign workers at the same time they were laying off 18,000 of their own US employees.

Trump says the program should be evaluated or even ended after he takes office.

Ted Cruz has said much the same thing.

Meanwhile, Hillary boasted that not only was she senator for NY, but Punjab as well. Ensuring that they will be able to continue sending their programmers here to snatch more jobs away from Americans.

Yes, it's not news that you and a lot of folks who say they are followers of Christ think that the gibberish he gives as answers to questions actually qualify as position statements that override the fact that he rejects Christ.

Idolatry. You want to place a man as the leader of the free world who will be a stumbling block to usher more folks into an eternal lake of fire and you're worried about H-1B visas.

Again, it's this type of non-Christ centered thinking that affirms that we deserve 8 years of Hillary Clinton.

Of course he doesn't CTB. The only thing that he's really concerned with is that the GOP candidate's name isn't Hillary.
