    It looks like Trump's usual publicity stunt. I think that he is funny. He could probably end this recession and help us get some money back in our bank accounts. There would be some good jobs around for a change.

    No, because he was/is a masterful campaigner. He won. Trump will be an abrasive, shrill campaigner. He won't win.

    Example:

    "When I watch a George Will or a Charles Krauthammer, you know, I've watched them for years, they're losers. They're just losers. They sit there, they haven't done anything," Trump added.

    Unlike Democrats that glee over ANY Demo we have a dim view of our parties "Conservative" selection. We should get better than ALL these clowns....but if you have to have a clown Trump might be it.

    Lets put his wealth in perspective.

    Assuming the interest rate is 1%, Trumps 9 billion dollars would only pay the interest on the national debt for 20 days.

    An unfair comparison.

    It should be noted that Trump inherited roughly $100-$200 million when his dad died. So he's starting out with a distinct advantage.

    Why? - it is a true statement.

    1- very unusual - many who inherit - ended up blowing the inheritance.
    2. Even at 2 mil, - that would be at least a tenfold increase- not a bad investing.

    The interest paid on the debt last year was $430,812,121,372, or $430.8 Billion.

    One day of debt would be $1.18 Billion. Twenty days worth of interest would be $23.6 Billion, not $9 Billion. Trump's fortune could pay the interest on US debt for 7.6 days, not 20 days.

    But it doesn't mean a thing. I can agree with Bro. Curtis that Trump parlayed his inheritance into a huge fortune. But I see no relevance to comparing his net worth to how many days it could pay the interest on the national debt.


    Check your math again. A 10X increase in $2 Million would be $20 million. Trump might have started out with $200 million.
