    Psa 37:27 Turn away from evil and do good; so shall you dwell forever.

    So what do you believe it means to turn away from evil that you may dwell forever?

    Repent = a change of mind, to turn.

    Repent (turn) from evil towards good (Jesus).

    If you read the context of Psalm 37 "one of my favorites BTW" it's about lessons on Gods blessings and faithfulness. The children of Israel knew all to well that when they did evil in the sight of the Lord He raised up nations to conquer and take captive. If they did what was right they would enjoy protection from God forever and not be moved "from the land".

    It means to be saved.
    It is totally, absolutely impossible for a mortal son of Adam to "turn from evil and to do good" without the grace of God through faith in Christ (in the OT - the Messiah, His Annointed one).

    Ephesians 2:8-13.

    8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
    9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
    10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
    11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
    12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
    13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
