Read about the founding of Liberty, MO. Finally they realized that churches help the town to have better morals and increase property values. </font>[/QUOTE]gb, I don't get your point in light of this discussion?

The Lord God says He is the one who forms light and creates darkness, causes well being and creates calamity, "I the Lord do all these things". Isaiah 45: 7. "I am the LORD, and there is no other; Besides Me there is no God. I will gird you, though you have not known Me; Isaiah 45:5 That men may know from the rising to the setting of the sun That there is no one besides Me. I am the LORD, and there is no other, Isaiah 45:6 We must know that our sovereign God has decreed all that happens for His glory...... so that we *all* may know who He is. Luke 18: 10. "Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.
    11. "The Pharisee stood and was praying this to himself: 'God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.
    12. 'I fast twice a week; I pay tithes of all that I get.'
    13. "But the tax collector, standing some distance away, was even unwilling to lift up his eyes to heaven, but was beating his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me, the sinner!'
    14. "I tell you, this man went to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted." Grace and peace.... and glory to God

Churches were not allowed but later the people found out how high the crime got and how immoraltiy set in so they began to allow churches in. So Liberty has churches today. Another place somewhat like that was Point Royal in Jamaica. The story is at http://www.noquartergiven.net/jamaica.htm
