    • The year 2014 was the warmest year across global land and ocean surfaces since records began in 1880.

    • This marks the 38th consecutive year that the yearly global temperature was above average.

    • Nine of the 10 warmest years in the 135-year period of record have occurred in the 21st century. 1998 ranks as the fourth warmest year on record.

    • Nineteen of the 20 warmest years on record have occurred in the past 20 years.

    • The 2014 global average ocean temperature was also record high.

    • This is the first time since 1990 the high temperature record was broken in the absence of El Nino conditions at any time during the year in the central and eastern equatorial Pacific Ocean.

    • Overall, the global annual temperature has increased at an average rate of .11 degrees Fahrenheit per decade since 1880 and at an average rate of .28 degrees Fahrenheit per decade since 1970.

    • Much of the record warmth for the globe can be attributed to record warmth in the global oceans, with three all-time new monthly high lobal ocean temperature records set in a single calendar year.

    • Most areas of the world experienced above-average annual temperatures... record warmth was observed over various regions of the world's land surfaces, including Far East Russia into Western Alaska, the western United States, parts of interior South America, most of Europe stretching into northern Africa, and parts of both eastern and western coastal Australia.

    • Nineteen European countries were expected to observe their hottest year on record.

    • 2014 was the warmest year on record for the United Kingdom since records began in 1910.

    • The Arctic is warming at more than twice the rate compared with lower latitudes.

Nobody except the extreme left buys this stuff anymore. It has been debunked over and over. It is faulty and dishonest science wrapped up in a political agenda.

....However, despite this clear evidence that the temperatures are not increasing, the global warming hysteria only seems to be increasing.

For example: President Obama himself tweeted on May 16, 2014: “97% of scientists agree: climate change is real, man-made and dangerous.” John Kerry, Al Gore, and a host of others have championed this statistic.

Since then, it has become clear that this statistic was inaccurate.

The Wall Street Journal went as far as to say, “The assertion that 97% of scientists believe that climate change is a man-made, urgent problem is a fiction.” Forbes headlined “Global Warming Alarmists Caught Doctoring ’97% Consensus’ Claims.”

Come to find out, the study President Obama was citing was botched from the start.

A host of other problems for the global warming crowd are emerging, such as . . .

Leaked emails from global warming scientists state that the Earth is not warming, such as this one from Kevin Trenberth that states, “The fact is that we can’t account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty we can’t.”
Claude Allegre, the founding father of the man-made global warming ethos, recently renounced his position that man has caused warming.
Proof is emerging that Al Gore and even President Obama have financially benefited from fueling the global warming hysteria (click here for an internal report on this).

    REV,
Seems I saw something, somewhere those things you listed are caused by global warming.

that sounds like, the reason you car is running out of gas is because you put gas into the tank:confused:

Not sure of the moose, but none of the others are true. All are false.

    Not true.

Illogical comment. That does not give man license to put more and more CO2 into the atmosphere.

    Not true

    Makes no sense.

I heard a guy on Coast to Coast AM saying this exact thing.

Anyhoo, Mitch's list is sort of vague, but #s 7-10 are all undeniable.

    Totally false.
    http://www.sciencemag.org/content/349/6244/aaa4019.abstract

Not everywhere. Central and Eastern Europe had very little snow this last winter. Stockholm has had to make snow so their in-city cross country trail could be used.

Again, only in a few places. Europe has a very warm winter. You can cherry pick, but when you look at the big picture to deny global warming is like the frog sitting in the pan that is being heated.

Proves absolutely nothing. There are a record number of deer in the East Coast. Their number reflect nothing about the climate but about the lessening number of hunters.

While I appreciate your efforts, and they do reflect some research, you did make a few errors….

    The first article says this….

We know that the sea level will rise as climate warms. Nevertheless, accurate projections of how much sea-level rise will occur are difficult to make based solely on modern observations. Determining how ice sheets and sea level have varied in past warm periods can help us better understand how sensitive ice sheets are to higher temperatures. Dutton et al. review recent interdisciplinary progress in understanding this issue, based on data from four different warm intervals over the past 3 million years. Their synthesis provides a clear picture of the progress we have made and the hurdles that still exist.

    It really doesn't disprove anything.

Second, some places DID experience record snow and ice, cold temps, etc….you can't deny this.

Third, a frog will try and jump out of water that is getting uncomfortably hot. Look it up.

Fourth, Think Progress is a whacko site. Not going there. The Weather Channel link is mere speculation and does nothing to disprove anything.

Fifth, the polar bear story does not report any dwindling numbers.

Climate scientists and environmentalists sounded the alarm this year after Japanese climatologists reported 2014 was the warmest year on record based on global surface temperature readings.

But satellite temperature data shows that 2014 was not even close to be the warmest on record. In fact, 2014 was only the 6th warmest year on record, according to the Remote Sensing System (RSS) satellite data set that measures the lowest few miles of the Earth’s atmosphere.

RSS and UAH data show 2014 was not even close to being the warmest on record. (Graph courtesy of Steven Goddard)

Climate scientists John Christy and Roy Spencer with the University of Alabama, Huntsville (UAH) said, “2014 was third-warmest, but barely.” UAH is home to the other major satellite climate dataset.

Christy said, “2014 was warm, but not special. The 0.01 degree Celsius difference between 2014 and 2005, or the 0.02 difference with 2013 are not statistically different from zero. That might not be a very satisfying conclusion, but it is at least accurate.”

Why did the Southern Beaufort polar bear population survey stop in 2010? It’s clear that the recently-published and widely-hyped new study stopped before the population rebound from a known decline was complete.

The researchers of the recently-published paper knew before starting their mark-recapture study in 2007 that the population decline had taken place. They also knew why the numbers dropped and that previous declines, caused by similar conditions, had been followed by a full recovery.

Did they really think a full recovery in population numbers was possible in only three four years, when cubs born in 2007 would not yet have been old enough to reproduce?

In fact, a US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) fall survey of Southern Beaufort polar bears in 2012 found numbers were higher than they had been in a decade.

To recap, the new paper (Bromaghin et al. 2015 2014, in press) took numbers from previous studies that revealed a statistically insignificant decline from 2001-2006 and formulated a new kind of model that suggested the decline had actually been more severe, between 25-50%. The only new data reported was collected between 2007 and 2010 (details here).

Survival of polar bears started to improve markedly by 2007 (a year of very low summer sea ice) and the population had recovered by 2010 to ~900 (range 606-1,212). The authors looked, but found no correlation of the decline with summer sea ice conditions as predicted by the IUCN Polar Bear Specialist Group (PBSG) earlier this year.

Also, there are far fewer hunters now as the International Agreement on the Conservation of Polar Bears and their Habitat has been in effect for several decades now. Fewer hunters, obviously, mean fewer killed. The bear population would be in far worse shape if hunting had continued at the pace before the agreement.

So, even if their population were growing everywhere, but it isn't, it would have nothing to do with climate change.

Thanks for proving my point. The decline in Polar Bears had nothing to do with the false climate change. It did however provide plenty of grant funding to people to earn a living with while they were able to make the false claim.

It does not prove your point at all. It only proves that with fewer hunters they have a better chance of surviving. As noted 3 populations are definitely declining, not from hunting, probably from climate change.

Your reference drew impossible to justify conclusions.

Actually it doesn't. But you may live on in your dream world if you like. Like the frog sitting in the gradually increasing temperature of the water in the pan, ... but I do hope others wake up soon enough that we, as a species, do not die totally off from the climate problems we have created.

America’s Most Advanced Climate Station Data Shows US In A 10-Year Cooling Trend

Data from America’s most advanced climate monitoring system shows the U.S. has undergone a cooling trend over the last decade, despite recent claims by government scientists that warming has accelerated worldwide during that time.

The U.S. Climate Reference Network was developed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to provide “high-quality” climate data. The network consists of 114 stations across the U.S. in areas NOAA expects no development for the next 50 to 100 years.
