I have been aware that many pro-KJVO posts have been allowed to stand
despite all the clearly wrong-headed language and demeaning things said about modern versions.

Well,turn-about is fair play. I will do an inversion of what they have done. I will paraphrase their (specifically GregPerry's)terminology and substitute the NIV instead of the KJV.I will use the term KJVs as they have used it against the modern versions.I will also use the term CT positively while casting the TR in a negative light.

Let's see how this will play out. If objections are raised then I know that hypocrisy is the name of the game here. Remember, I am using their kind of language --only turning things around to magnify their errors. I do not subscribe to all that is below. I hope you will get my point. If you are shocked now --then why weren't you shocked when the KJV was lauded and the modern versions such as the NIV were smeared?
    __________________________________________________________

Personally,I believe the KJVs are substandard in comparision with the NIV.

The KJVs "contain" some of the words of God (and people CAN be saved after or while reading them)but don't actually meet the standard of perfection that we believe the NIV has attained in the English language IMHO.

My concern would be that the use of the KJVs also introduce the possibility of errors as well. "A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough." Gal.5:9

Personally,I am completely comfortable with my NIV and even more completely UNcomfortable with the way the KJVs I have read "feel" in their reading.

You will never hear me calling anyone a heretic unless somebody comes on here and tries to deny that the NIV is the Word of God.

Even I agree that the TR CONTAINS the Word of God (at least in part). I've also seen time and time again the "fruit" of the use of KJVs many times tends to lead the users thereof (eventually) into a lowering of godly standards of such things as conduct, dress, music and associations with the world to name a few.

The NIV IS the best Bible for English speaking people.

Ya'll can have the KJVs...they aren't even in the same hemisphere as far as I'm concerned.

I will never turn away from my NIV and I will never recommend anything but an NIV. I further believe that the ultimate fruit of the KJVs will be the One World Church of the Anti-Christ in the fast approaching end-times.

I believe the KJVs may contain (at least) some of the words of God but I believe them to be flawed.

I believe my NIV IS the Word of God. I do not acknowledge that there are any errors in it.

    I love,like,"prefer," read,study,use,and recommend ONLY the NIV.

Question:If someone would dare to say that the NIV was not God's Word --is that okay?Answer:Nobody in their RIGHT MIND...at least nobody REALLY saved...would ever be stupid enough or crazy enough to say such a thing about the NIV.

Could we AT LEAST agree that the NIV is God's Word?

I'm sorry...that the King James "Version" is NOT God's Word...even though it may "contain" some of the "truths" taught in a real Bible...in my opinion.

like my departed MOMA would say to me "two wrongs don't make a right!"

I would LOVE to know just who of us here think the Kjv is no good, not the bible/word of God to us now, as some KJVO here still keep saying!

The KJV is A version of God's word to us now. There's NO "One-Size-Fits-All" Spandex Bible translation.

    Excellent OP.

    I thought this was exceptional:

We all get what the KJVOnly's think about those who use MV's, just read between the lines and at times read the exact lines. It's shameful behavior on their part, but nonetheless it is tolerated.

I see retaliation toward the world as a bad thing in the NT, 1 Peter 3:16ff, 1 Peter 2:23. Holding brothers accountable for bad behavior is another issue altogether and is actually Scriptural. They're not one in the same and you'd have to rid much of the NT to hold strictly to what you're implying. I know you're reading MLJ but you're over applying the Sermon on the Mount here.

As an administrator and moderator of this particular forum I am closing this thread based on the premise that our response to it is a measure of hypocrisy.

The administrative council will not be held ransom to any poster's supposed test of hypocrisy.
