I heard a couple of questions, what are your though

    1) someone said they think the Bible says cowards will not be able to go to Heaven
I have no ideal what scripture they are talking about - does anyone have a possible scripture?

    2) would you buy a house where someone was murdered? Could there be a evil spirt of the murdered person.

Even after lowering the price several times, an indidvidual has had trouble selling his house, where a murder took place -

You've got me there. I have no clue. Sound like a preacher I heard about a few weeks ago from a college student friend who was using the parable of the 10 virgins to tell the students that only virgins (those who are sexually inexperienced) are fit for heaven... and then just the ones who are prudent.

If the price was right and I liked the house, I wouldn't have any problem with it. I don't believe in "ghosts" are popularly defined. I certainly believe in the demonic, but that's easy to take care of.

I have no idea at present regarding the first question. But regarding #2 why would that concern a believer? I remember reading from Pearl Buck's life in China. She said her missionary parents got good deals on homes where the Chinese were scared of ghosts that were supposedly haunting the residences of deceased occupants. It didn't bother the Sydenstrickers one bit to get cheaper lodgings when the populace was victimized by superstition.

I've heard this, too, but I don't know of anyplace in the Bible where it says that. Maybe they're confusing Christianity and Islam.

    Depends on the house.

    No.

About twenty years ago, my family had a little cabin in a campground resort. The guy who had the cabin next to us was a drug addict and a hermit. My mother would always go check on him, make sure he had food, make sure he was OK, etc.

He committed suicide and we were all shocked to find out that he left his house to my mother, as he had no family and he felt she was the only one who ever loved him. He saw her as a surrogate mother.

We still have the cabin and the room where he killed himself is now my bedroom.

Twenty years and still no ghosts, although we've had four dogs during that time and not one of them would sleep in that room. You can make up your own theory as to why.

When I was a firefighter, back in the 80s, our rescue squad was located in what was a former appliance store. The name of the man who owned the place escapes me, but he died in his office, which we renovated into the ladies' bathroom. Anytime something went missing or the building made a noise or something malfunctioned, we'd just say "Oh, that's just ol' Mr. ______ walking around".

Didn't believe it, of course, but it was fun to scare the children.

    1) The only passage that I can think of is: “But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murders and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” (Rev 21:8).

    2) It wouldn't bother me at all - but I do understand that it could be an issue selling the home.

If there is a manifestation of the demonic, just take authority over it in the name (power/authority/character) of Jesus and send it away.

For what it's worth, I don't think the demonic forces necessarily hang around places where people have been murdered.

    Good and Bad Questions

I do not think the idea of cowards, has to do being brave in combat, but rather in a willingness to trust in something other than ourselves. Thus the opposite of putting faith in Christ. Those unwilling to put their faith in Christ will not get to heaven.

The Bible teaches when a person dies, they go immediately to be present with the Lord (in heaven) or they are taken and confined in Hades. Now all those "near death experiences" where folks nearly died but were brought back with stories of their dreams and visions indicate a person may get a glimpse of the afterlife before crossing over, but the duration of that glimpse is probably very short. So the idea that an evil spirit might "inhabit" a location has no support in scripture. I have been on a hill in Colorado where several trees are damaged from lightning strikes, and so I did not feel comfortable lingering there. But that is the limit of my empathy for such a silly notion. :)

If question 1 is true, than none of the Apsotles made heaven, for the deserted jesus like house was on fire!
Could be referring to jesus saying that of one denies him this life, He will deny lnowing them in the next!

Question 2 would be would buy if good neighborhood, schools, church near by etc, as don't think it will be a haunted house!

Not really sure how to take the first question, except maybe those who are ashamed of the name of Jesus Christ around their circle of friends. If they are ashamed, then obviously they are not saved. Going from door to door on cold calling visitation makes one wonder what will answer the door, but that is not being a coward.

As to the second question, first, I do not believe human spirits linger on earth. They either go into the presence of the Lord or to hell, immediately. If there is such thing as an evil spirit, it would be a demon, and have nothing to do with the human soul. What would a particular house or a murder of a human have to do with that? Where would the human soul go if the house is torn down? Why do the various ghost hunter shows turn off the lights at night when searching for ghosts? Sounds kind of ridiculous, don't you think?

How would one deal with a demon in a particular location? Just like would deal with one anywhere. One would use their faith in God, the Word of God, and the power of the Holy Spirit within them.
