Well it could prove to be less of a financial hardship then what ever it would cost us to continue to pay for the education, health care, social services, the cost of jailing illegal alien criminals, etc. not to mention the disenfrancisement of my vote by non-citizens voting.

A little pain to save one from a bigger pain is not a bad thing.

    all things considered . . .

For the last 100 years the US and Canada have been the best places for the working class in the history of the world and probably will be until the next world war.

Since when is electing a man who is for abortion and homosexual rights a good thing?

What does that have to do with the topic of this thread ... that people in other lands see the US as a country where dreams can be fulfilled?

Even the dreams of those who support slaughtering children. Sad really

I don't think Canada has lower standards. Don't misunderstand me, we love to mingle with the average American person, but we also view America as a nightmare rather than a dream.

We do protect the rights of all citizens, and not select some for discrimination because they don't fit our moral codes. I don't support homosexuality, but I will defend their right to be such in a free society.

I chose Canada and I suspect I will die here as a Canadian citizen by choice. I enjoyed most of my days in the USA, but would never want to live there. When I holiday, it is not the sites that attract me, but the people. I love to meet people, and I always enjoyed meeting the people in the US of A. Lovely people. Governments do not always reflect the hearts of the people. They have a country to run and global responsibility as a nation within a world of nations.

We have a twice-born Prime Minister, but he has a multifaceted country to govern, and sometimes this means passing over his strict Christian beliefs. Not denying them, but overstepping them to protect and serve all citizens with equal rights.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Yeehaw! for all this. Maybe, with our inspiration, Israel will elect a Palestinian Prime Minister.

Amnesty International reports serious discrimination against Indigenous women & refugee and migrant women - including murder and kidnapping for sex slaves.

This is a problem that has continued for decades.

I agree about dreams. The only way for Obama to get elected is for people to be dreaming. Never has a person been elected with fewer credentials and less demonstrated ability. Never before has a candidate been elected who is this unknown.

It goes to show that you don't have to know anything or do anything to be president. Learn to speak well, and then vote present on everything.

It is truly a dreamer's country.

What a work of art! You really have a way with words to make comprise, complacency and just downright disobedience and ungodliness to sound noble.

    That was beautiful! Really.

If we have ceased to be a country of dreams or ceased being view as a country of dreams over the last 4 to 5 years as you suggest then I think we should have seen a decline in illegal immigrants coming over the boarder or even legal immigrants from coming to this country. You and I both know with out even looking that this is not true.

Obama has the exact same political resume as Abraham Lincoln. Two terms in the IL state Senate and first term US Senate.

Lincoln served in the US house, not the Senate.
