So are the Jews outside of Israel heirs to God's promise - or is it just the nation established in 1948?

I contend that God's promises are to all Jews, not just those who are part of a political entity.

I will not 'curse' the Jews., but I am not going to support any state just because some people think that they are the true Israel of the Bible. I don't think we can equate this current political entity with the nation of Abraham and the people of David.

Beside, this is one view of eschatology, one that I hold to, but many godly men differ and I don't want US policy based on my view of future events.

I know you don't. It was a little joke.

But yes, God started calling the Jews back to their land around 1948. That, and the specific borders of Israel, spelled out in the Old Testament, make this inargualble. I won't spend any time trying to convince you, you will just have to accept my jabs.

Agreed...and I believe financial and military support can be argued based on this passage alone.

But God's protection expires unless we back him up? God can't defend Israel without US funds?

Ok. So God will bless the "individual" who blesses Israel and curse the "individual" that curses Israel.....

but for the "nation" that blesses Israel, what does God do then? I believe He will bless that nation, just as His word says. "I will bless them that bless thee".

I agree with you Amy and that is probably the only thing that has kept us from being distroyed to date, but even that has its limits as we continue to mock Him as a nation.

Nobody has even hinted as such. Don't read between the lines.

National Israel is not the Spiritual Israel. And they will be tested during the tribulation. having said that I am not aware that any policy is set up on any theological issue. But even still we need to support Israel. The attacks from the Arabs are evil and their wish is to run Israel out of the area. They play the PR game well. And far to many people by into their drivel.

Someplace God told Israel something to the effect, "The land is is yours if you can take it and hold it. They never quite took it and didn't hold it.

Agreed. Israel haven proved themselves a trustworthy ally and stabalising force in the region. Until that changes we need to treat them as a friendly state.

My point is that we cannot expect our nation to adopt an 'Israel right or wrong' attitude based on one view of eschatology - even if I agree with that view.
