    This idea goes hand in hand with the various plans around the country to give people money for their down payment. If you can't save up the down payment, how are you going to save up for property taxes, insurance, and home repairs.

    People not being able to afford a house is why we have so many foreclosures. If you can't pay off your visa bill, save some money for a down payment, etc. then how can you afford a house.
