Sorry Mioque, if I miss understood what you were saying [IMG] sometimes you talk a bit over my head, which is why I dig you so much [IMG] even if we disagree alot  I bet we would get along better in person, instead of online (I'm not flirting, I'm married). People have a diffrent way of coming accross in person then in words.Ya know?

I think you did misunderstand me (in suitably dramatic fashion).

For clarity. In my church we strongly disapprove of: Benny Hinn, British Israelism, people who think they can speak in tongues, people who think Karl Barth was a devilworshipper and people who oppose Roman Catholicism for the wrong reasons*. Not to mention a whole host of other things that thankfully haven't showed up in this thread (yet).

*As opposed to doing it for the right reasons.

Whenever I get a comment like that I just kindly ask them to please show me in the Bible where one has to be "name of group" to be saved. The look I get is usually priceless, but it has opened many doors.

So true Jim. Often when I am dealing with a Muslim, or an atheist, I get the "too many Churches/denominations" excuse, along with the "too many conflicting Bibles" excuse. And there are several though who think the apostate RCC is Christian so I am encountering the "too many child molesters" excuse.

And yes, the lost knows more about what a Christian should be, but they do of course expect us to be 100% perfect it seems, which we should be striving for, but most of what is passed of as Christianity today is nothing more then a counterfiet. Sadly, many Christians have fallen for the fake.

I just find it strange that I really haven't come across anyone except here that has come across the excuse of "too many conflicting Bibles". I have talked to several pastors, IFB pastors, pentecostals, CoG, CoC and Presby's, and not a one of them says that they have come across that excuse. I also don't see how they could come to the conclusion that the Bible contradict each other, as they teach the same fundamentals and doctrines. The only people I have heard this from are the KJV Onlyists (with maybe one or two acceptions on these forums) on the forums themselves. As stated before, I use the KJV, have been in the ministry, and I don't recall ever coming across that excuse. Hmmmm...wonder why?

Actualy, when street coner evangalizing, I have heard that excuse quite often, along with, there are a lot of different religons too, it seems that Satan has been succesful confusing the lost, by planting all these diferent versions out there, and differant denominations, makeing christianity looking to contradicting for some people to accept the gosple.

I've done street evangelism as well in Chicago, Milwaukee and Madison, Wisconsin. It must be a recent excuse.
