And from what did you draw that conclusion from?

Guess we all saw this coming. They are gonna have a hard time getting into another school.

It would be cool if an HBCU offered them scholarships and just allowed them some time to be around a school of majority Blacks.

Could end up being a wonderful story.

Your post that I quoted. You were basically saying "hey, these other things were wrong, too, but they didn't get the media attention this did." Instead of us complaining about the lack of media attention, or that when it's black folks it gets "better treatment," we should be focusing on the fact that wrong is wrong.

The only way to overcome bullying is to not respond to the bullies' taunts. The same applies to racism. Shoulda just let it go at "what the students did was wrong."

The National Fraternity - yes - they should have the right to end the relationship.

However, the local frat does NOT represent the college. Now, the college should be able to prohibit the frat from meeting on campus (officially) and such - but nothing should prohibit the frat from meeting off campus.

That's exactly what the college did. Kicked them off campus grounds. The national fraternity made the determination to close the chapter.

Meet off campus for what? The only reason there is a chapter is because of the college. Take away the college and there is no chapter.

For what? They joined SAE because of its affiliations and the benefits of being in a frat at a major university. Lots of connections.

If they are who they make themselves out to be, they can just join the Klan. It's already established and has better connections and they don't seem to be accepting black pledges either.

That was not my intent. I was pointing out that both groups spoke wrongly, and that in one case, nothing is done, while in another (the white suspects) were stripped of their frat and punished.

I was suggesting there is a racially motivated double standard. Has nothing to do with media attention. Both got tons of that. :tear:

Who really gives a rip whether or not a college fraternity is closed down? Far as I'm concerned, they can all be shut down. It is their very nature to be discriminatory about all manor of things...includin sex, geography, monetary status, physical attributes, student aptitude, athletic prowess and , of course, race.

    Is anybody really surprised?

They serve their purpose. I think the surprise is that in today's cell phone record happy society, that they would be so blatant.

Oh well. That type of arrogance usually bites ya.

It's a changing world, and there are frats and sororities that are not such as you say.

No I didn't. If I had answered my own question, I wouldn't still be saying "for what?"
