Our church's Calvinist pastor asked a decidedly non-cal former minister to preach while he is leading a missions trip to Haiti; So this morning, after complimenting the senior pastor and praising his leadership, The Gentleman preached a great sermon on the forgiveness of God purchased by Christ on the cross, and the importance of forgiving others.

What is the world coming to?????
-Calvinists letting non-cals fill their pulpits???
    -Non-cals openly complimenting Cals?
    -Calvinists going on missions trips?
-what's next? Baptists raising hands in worship????!!!!

Oh yeah, in other news, my 19mo. old boy now has a new 3-day old little sister..:love2:

    Congratulations on the baby!

Good post. No reason Cals and non-cals cannot get along and see themselves as colleagues. But then again, what do I know.....

    Enjoy that little baby!

About two/three years from now he's going to hear:

    "Mine, mine, mine!"

    "Will you stop touching me?"

"Dad, she/he is bothering me!!"

    Enjoy, Brother, enjoy!!

I have commented in another thread about the unity in the congregation I serve. This, with a few of us who are DoGs, even though our pastor and the majority of members are not.

Here's why we DoGs don't crusade to convert others in our church to our way of thinking:
It will unnecessarily divide the church and likely such a crusade will fail, so what have you accomplished.
If one comes to embrace DoG, it must be done freely and after much prayer and study of scripture. This is heavy stuff. It cannot be imposed on a congregation.

However, if the subject comes up from an honest inquirer, they'll get the whole load.

to be honest, think that we here on the BB represent a real minority among chriastians concerning discussing DoG and non cals/arm theologies as regards to salvation, as solid majority of christians in our churches view it more as either one has faith in jesus and are saved, or else one rejected jesus and is lost!
Not concerned with "how" saved, just you have faith in jesus or not!

they also hold to OSAS, but most do not discuss say Biblical election, not timings aspects of second coming etc as we do here on BB!
