    No US team has won gold unless playing on home ice. We're a long way from claiming that's possible in this tournament, but ...

    Russia is out. That's a big surprise. USA plays in the semis tomorrow against Canada. That, in reality, is the gold-medal game.

    Really tough game for them. As defense rather than offense sealed the deal for both teams until Canada drove in the only but crucial shot in the game.

    All of these teams seem to be made up of NHL players! You would think that would have helped.

    Seems like the U.S. team pretty much decided if they couldn't play for gold, they wouldn't play at all. Right wing Patrick Kane even had two -- two!! -- penalty shots, one in each of the first two periods and couldn't convert on either one of them.
