    Finding Nemo (G)

Synopsis: After Nemo, an overprotected little clown fish, gets snatched from his ocean home by a scuba diving dentist, Nemo's worry-wart father, Marlin, must rescue him...

Gospel Filter: Even though it's a children's movie, Finding Nemo offers immense depth on a few topics. Marlin and Nemo have a common father/son relationship-Marlin wants to shield and protect his son, while Nemo longs to charge off into the great unknown. Discuss with your students how they can follow God's command to obey their parents (even overprotective ones) while carving a unique identity and personal space for themselves...

One-on-One Questions: Do you feel your parents are overprotective? Why or why not? Have you every disobeyed them and regretted it? If so, what happened? When do you think parents should let go of their children, let them live their own lives and make their own choices? Is there a point where it's okay to stop obeying your parents? Why or why not?...
