Sorry but it's not her world..or my world...it's Gods. You are reading into those passages what isn't there. She is honoring God, & her Husband,
& her household...period. What authority she has comes from God, through her husband, to her. She DOES exercise authority..(the buying of the field, etc.)but study it out through scripture, she will NOT act independent of her spouse for in doing so she would be "usurping authority", which we both know can't be done. I know you understand
deligation(spell?) of authority, & thats how it works. It runs from God to the man to the woman to the children. Ultimately its the Man held responsible, not the woman. Look at Adam & Eve.
Eve transgressed first, but it wasn't untill Adam followed suit instead of correcting her that the sin was committed. It fell on HIS shoulders.
Ansd through him to the woman & to the rest of the world. [IMG]

The descriptions for church leadership by Paul is a "suggestion" not a mandate. Paul has another "suggestion" that all men and women be single and devote their live's to God. If they did stay single and devote their life to God, shouldn't they be the logical ones who take on leadership roles. Didn't Paul make it clear that those having to get married, were the weak, lustful, about to burn because of their overpowering flesh side, people? Why would these weak Christians make better leaders and deacons rather than the spiritually stronger, eyes only on God, above the weakness of the flesh, type Christian?

No, these verses only makes sense when they are looked at as "suggestions" not "mandates."
I believe Paul wanted someone with experience as a leader to take on theses roles. That (at the time) wasn't women or young single men. The churches were small, and they did need a take charge, willing to die, type person. So at the time the "weaker" family man was the perfect choice. Times have changed.

Mabey "times have changed", but neither God or his word ever changes.
    Mal 3:6
For I am the LORD, I change
not; therefore ye sons of Jacob
    are not consumed.
By the way...how do you get that 1 Tim 3 is a suggestion. Reads like a straight foward statement to me. A lot of people seem to forget, or either don't believe that the books of the New Testament are inspired by the Holy Ghost. That means God himself, not mans suggestion.

In a way, you are saying that a man makes valid the work that I do. Correct?

Sorry...I can't find one time in the New Testament Church where a man passed any type of authority to a woman, for any purpose. I mean that according to the Word, women aren't even to teach..1Ti 2:12
But I suffer not a woman to
teach, nor to usurp authority over
the man, but to be in silence.
I know this verse is completly ignored in most churches, or they will assign a woman to teach the children, but thats what it says period. Of course I don't know enough history to know when the idea of Sun.School was instituted & that may be when women began to be given that oppotunity.
But no Saggy ...a man doesn't make your work valid, for again God is the final authority, & that includes His Word. His Word teaches over & over that , in the Church itself, it must be a man in the "Head" position.
Now me personally...I never saw the "need" for a children's seperate church. There is supposed to be "one" body & one mind. It never says to break the preaching down to age groups, like Sun. School Classes do. We also forget it's not us but the Holy Ghost working through the preaching so that even a child can understand what God wants them to understand. [IMG]
