My favorite place to stay is: Portofino Bay Hotel (at Universal Studios). The theme park was nice, but the accommodations are the lap of luxury - well worth a once-in-a-lifetime expense! Our whole family went last year and it was absolutely a dream vacation. Portofino Bay Hotel is a replicate of the real Portofino Bay in Italy. It was a thrill!

Please feel free your pics and links of your favorite place on this thread. We'll all enjoy lurking, lol.

I love to travel. There are three states I have not been to in the lower 48, North Dakota, Oregon, and Washington. We are planning a trip to Washington, Oregon for sometime in the near future. I would like to get to all the states, but after looking up the ND tourism site, can think of no reason to go there. Has anyone else been? Their claim to fame is a giant turtle, the largest cow statue in America, and the largest green bean factory. LOL.

Anyway, my favorite places tend to be out West, the mountains, deserts, and National Parks. One place I have not seen is Glacier National Park in Montana. I do not care so much for beaches in the South and East.

My all time favorite spot is the Tetons. But it has been so long that I do not have any digital photos of there. Ranking closely, is Rocky Mountain National Park where I worked for nine years in the Park Service.

Well, I haven't been a ton of places in the US for vacation but when we do go away on our boat, I think my favorite spot is Mystic Seaport, MA and Hamburg Cove in Old Lyme, CT (yes, the home of Lyme Disease). I also love the Adirondacks as well.

My favorite spot is my own back porch, with my mom and dad's farm coming in at a very close 2nd. If I choose a vacation spot where I leave home I love The Hammock in Palm Coast Florida. It's 5-star luxury. http://www.hammockbeach.com/ I also love the Smoky Mountains, especially in the fall and we have a wonderful home we rent there overlooking Lake Chatuge http://www.vrbo.com/20870 It's pure relaxation. We are not sight-seeing, shopping vacationers. When we go on vacation it's to relax and get away from the phones and usually people.
