We need to pray for them - it's the Christian thing to do.

    Very Pleased

    2 Peter 1:10 (KJV1611 Edition):
    Wherefore, the rather, brethren,
giue diligence to make your calling and election sure:
for if ye doe these things, ye shall neuer fall.

I'm pretty sure that 'calling' here is one's
calling TO CHRIST. But I guess it could
mean one's calling to ministry. I personally believe that
the Lord calls each Christian to serve Him and others
    in ministry.

I know I've heard "how can I be called by God?
I'm busy taking care of four children".
Yes, Mam, sounds like the Lord has called you
to spend some 30 years (probably much longer)
ministry of raising children in the nurture of the Lord.

Short history of God's Callings on Ed:

1952 - Called to salvation Rich & Full
--- (It is all about JESUS!)

1958 - Called to teach Bible

1967 - Called to the special witness of
harvesting people for Messiah Jesus whom
others have planted (Yeshua gives the growth
    and does the harvesting)

1972 - Called to special ministry
    of EDification to those
who are called to the pastoral ministry

1975 - Called to the Deacon Ministry
(to Widows and the church family)

    1984 - Called to special on-line ministry
    of EDification to those
who are called to God's ministry

2002 - called to special on-line ministry on
    the BB = Baptist Board

(I note I never got uncalled -- maybe
if the Lord Taries I'll get called home
which will uncall me from the other calls??)

AJ, I enjoy your posts. Please don't give up on us. I get ignored all the time. Maybe I just make dumb posts, I don't know. But I keep coming back and I've learned a lot from this bunch of yahoos.

Thank you Amy. I took a couple of weeks off from the board, and didnt even peek at it, and now I have come back with a different approach. I am trying to be more lighthearted and have fun, and not take stuff too serious.

I was very sorry to find when I got back online that the person that got me so upset got banned the day after i posted this op. I dont know why he was banned, but I assume it was because he carried on the argument with others after I had left. Sometimes, when I am on here and i dont feel good, or I have had a bad day, I say stuff I really dont mean, and I wonder if that person was having that kind of day when we quarrelled????

I dont guess I'll ever know, but i wish him well, and I hope the mods let him back on soon.

    AJ

Have you tried the fellowship forums? The debate forums are not really a place to find friendliness, though many of us are friendly. Maybe you are taking things too personally.

I am wondering if you are young (under 28 or so)?

If you post here, keep in mind it's not just discussion but debate oriented. You can learn a lot if you don't take things personally. As time passes and you see what you learn, you will appreciate it more.

By learning, I don't mean always learning from others, though that happens, but you learn how to defend your own views or sometimes you see the flaws in your views, which is helpful in the long run.

You have to have a little bit of a tough skin on this board. I've been called a liar, a racists, etc. Some post that I thought were pretty good were ignored. Just last week it was suggested that I might need a pacifier when I dared to point out the ugliness of one poster. I think I was being called a baby. But, guess what, my self worth doesn't revolve around the BB. Of the over five hundred posts less than ten have resulted in ugliness from another poster. Over all the posters are fair and while they may not always agree, they are respecting of each other.

Who needs that stinkin' "fellowship" stuff anyway? Always such a sweet spirit here no matter our tiny differences.

I have to say these threads amaze me. We have 'report post' button to report inappropriate posts. Being called a liar, racist, or such is a violation of the rules and that button should be used to report such.

As far as being 'ignored' you really can't expect everyone to respond to every thing you post. Posts are part of a thread of discussion. I have been here 5 years and have nearly 20k posts, but literally thousands of them never got a direct reply.

I don't think my skin is necessarily tough, and I get involved in some of the most heated areas of debate, but I have rarely been offended in the last 5 years.

C4K, where is the "report post" button? I recall them from before but don't see them now. I was actually looking for that a couple of times.

Upper right corner where the post # is. It's a yellow triangle.

Thanks, Amy! I think they changed the icon from the way it was before, or I just forgot what it was! Can't believe I missed it! :wavey:
