Hi folks, yes there are elections and politics outside the USA .....

This Saturday (25th November) we vote for our state government ... like many places the choice isn't that fantastic humanly speaking, please pray that wisdoom will prevail and that appropriate people will be elected to our state parliament.

It will probably be another 3 years of our current Labor overnment given their large current majority, but it is in God's hands and the upper house is less certain. To effectively use the upper house some compromise or deal will probably have to be made with one of the minor parties, and some of them are just plain weird!!

I will vote, in Australia it is compulsory to at least attend and recieve the ballot paper, what you then do with it is up to you, but as a supporter of democracy i intend prayerfully casting my vote for some of those who are standing.

All governments are in God's hands, and can only rule/govern because of Him.

    Regards
    Bob

Two major parties, the Australian Labor Party - (the left leaning lot) and the Liberal Party (which is the major conservative party) government will be formed by either one or the other. A plethora of minor parties which include - The National Party, (primarally a party for the country areas), The Greens (the environmental party... according to them) the Family First Party ( a party with christian principles, mostly promoted by the AOG churches), and lots of the loony parties ...

As the results are mostly counted, tthe Labor Party has been elected as the State Government, with a slightly reduced majority from last time. Will be a while before the final results, particularly for the upper house, are known.

We have State governments lead by the Australian Labor Party (all our states) - and a Federal Government lead by the Liberal Party.

Quite a goood arrangement.. don't let either party have all the power
