My mind has no problem with the idea of a woman being president. My heart says our secular country should still follow biblical ideas, which puts men in charge.

Help me, Lord, to determine YOUR plans in future elections!

As long as she is the most qualified, why not?

I'm asking because many Christians, especially Baptists, have issues with the idea of women in authority, especially in the realm of politics. I've met people who believe women can hold leadership positions in the workplace and be the "boss", even when there are men under her, but they still believe women shouldn't be involved in political decisions. Some even believe NO Christian should hold political office.

Anyhow, I wanted to see where folks here stand on the issue. It would be nice if they included their reasoning.

Scripture doesn't say that. I have no problem with a woman POTUS, woman senator, woman assemblymember, councilmember, judge, police officer, or dog catcher. And scripture doesn't appear to have a problem with any of these either.

Though, I'm in agreement with the previous post. As long as the first name isn't "Hillary", I'm fine with it [IMG]

I went with undecided because it might not be wrong for a woman to be POTUS, but my preference is for a man to be in that position. That's just me. [IMG]

I said no, but not necessarily because it's wrong. I am just not comfortable with the idea of a woman having that much power in a country that is so significant in world power.

I think the Lord made men and women equally intelligent, but I also believe we are designed very differently for certain roles. I think men are, generally speaking, more decisive, authoritative, and analytical, -- qualities needed for this position. I think a woman's compassion might get in the way when toughness is needed instead. However, I am not passionate about this particular issue.

I agree with both Rachel and Marcia. This is why I voted undecided.

    BTW,

I would not vote for either Hillary nor Condi.
