I know Bro. Curtis, and my having only been here since September ought to be weighed with the fact that you've been here since 2001.

No way. Your posts are every bit as valuable as anyone else's. Your views are important, and you shouldn't let time "served" here intimidate.

God bless you, Bap Mom. (he obviously allready has. Being a parent is God's greatest earthly blessing. [IMG] )

I beg to differ. Not all posts, if any, of Donna's are negative. Many of her posts are uplifting and edifying.

Actually, Bro. Curtis, there have been a number of such threads over the years here on the BB. Several this year. I'm not good at linking to other forums, but see the Baptist Theology forum here on the BB, a thread last April and May entitled "Doctrine of Sinless Perfection", for example.

I also disagree with the comment that Donna's posts are "always negative", and I have also seen some of the comments she refers to. There are some who call themselves Baptist who make comments that indicate they believe it is impossible for a Christian to continue to be a sinner. Most of those on the board disagree, but the comments are made none the less.

I also think that when "certain sins" are zeroed in on, it leaves the unspoken implication that the person zeroing in on it thinks they are sinless. Since their sins aren't "out there" to be discussed, and they seem to show a very mean spirited attitude toward specific sins, it is easy to conclude they feel blameless.

Just to make Donna's point. On the board today, in my thread about Hiring Outside Musicians, CraigbytheSea wrote this: "Christians" who are sinners need to get saved."

Doesn't that statement imply that Christians are not sinners and that sinners cannot be Chrisitian?

</font>[/QUOTE]It is usually up to the person making the accusation to prove it.

And did the person who said it get challenged ? Or was it a hit & run trolling post ? Is the person who said it still active ? It seems if somebody really thought they had no sin, they would have chimed in on this thread, by now.

Thank you for looking that up.

Instant sanctification is not a doctrine that I would say I believe in at all. Santification is a life-long process. This was argued sufficiently in this thread.

But I'll admit, now I've seen somebody claim to be without sin, albeit mistakenly, but you did prove it. Thank you.

    Your welcome Bro Curtis.
I agree, it isn't an instant thing that happens at salvation, but a work in us by God, He continues to work in us.
So why do some who do not believe in sinless perfect so hardly seek to point out eveyone's sin as if they have none? Pointing a finger at others sins, as someone on this thread already said, makes the assumption they don't have sins. When in reality they just don't have that sin someone else does. For some reason they do not see their own sin, they just assume it's there, but it isn't bad enough to see,and it can't possibly be s bad a sin as the next guys is.
When we point fingers at sin, we should point them at ourselves. The Holy Spirit is the only one who convicts of sin, and when He convicts He convicts me of my sin, He does not convict me of anothers sin.
If we can't speak to another out of love for them, in a loving attitude, we can only hurt, not help. And always it should be at the leading of the Holy Spirit.

    Funny but sad story.

Several years ago we had gone to Disneyland and while waiting in line we started talking and witnessing to a guy from India. He kept claiming he had NO sin, that he was " Perfect " so a quick answer from me shut him right up and he wouldn't talk to us anymore.

I asked him if he was married and he said yes.
I said I bet if we were to talk to your wife we would find out you ain't so perfect after all.

What are you going to say to that ? our spouses know our sins more than anyone except God.
    Ain't that the truth ;)
