I thought this was a contest for talent and not religious affiliation. Who says that Rueben is not a Baptist? Rueben was the most consistent performer.

Frankly, I am sorry that one must win...It would be nice to see them both win.

    Cheers,

    Jim

well... let's put it this way... he hasn't said he has a religious affiliation... while Clay has said it numerous times...

Ruben? The only consistant one? Clay screwed up on one song... Ruben has been throaty and flat the past couple of weeks... both men are extremely tired and BOTH can't wait for the ending... this is an extremely taxing event and I don't think any of the singers know what they're getting into ;)

Ruben and Clay are both winners... look at Justin from last year... barely any talent and yet he's just as popular as Kelly(last year's winner)

THis is going to be extremely close.... both can sing... and Clay has the power right now that Ruben lost somewhere back in teh competition...

The only statement about religion I have heard from Clay is one he made in a People article. It read, "I'm religious."

I think they've both been pretty consistent, and I like them both. I don't vote, though, so it's a non-issue for me. They'll both have albums out in a year.

By the by, Frenchie (who was kicked off before they even began) is now starring in Rent on B'way.

he's been quoted back in his hometown papers far more than People magazine(People's too busy gushing over Ruben)... not only that but a friend of mine goes to his church and sent me the church's website link... and it has a big tribute to their Hometown hero ;)

On the last broadcast, the two lads remaining seemed to show an affinity for each other. Both Rueben and Clay demonstrated a church relationship. Rueben is so quiet spoken, it might have been difficult to catch, but his expression to God was there.

How deep their faith is, we don't really know from what has been released..Time may tell. At least is decent and clean telly, and that is a relief.

    Cheers,

    Jim

PS. I vote for the bloke with the accent..Then he is a fellow Brit, isn't he?

I could not get through to vote. I still like Clay better. Clay will still do good!

    Reuben will be gone fast.

D'oh! The Clay Train stopped short of Idolville!

Ruben's church was broadcast last night - packed to the brim. Granted, Clay had more people on the air in his hometown, but it was pretty neat to have the meeting in Ruben's church, where he got his start singing.

Theres is no doubt that Clay is the most talented of the two. My wife got me interested in watching the dumb show because I wasnt the least interested in it until I heard Clay sing. I got goosebumps every time I heard him. Reuben was good but he really didnt do much for me.
Even though Reuben won the contest, mark it down, we will all hear much more from Clay in the future. Also this is going to sound like a racist remark but it isnt meant to be. Reuben, no doubt got all the balck votes and some white votes which put Clay at a disadvantage off the bat, because blacks would tend to vote for the skin color rather than the talent. Clay probably didnt receive one black vote.
Ok, now all you guilt ridden, politically-correct, panty-waist liberals can fire away!

He did in my office. Maybe it's where you live?

Clay is, I think, more talented, but Ruben has better pop star presence.

I really thought it was awesome that they had it in his church that means so much more than an auditiorium/stadium like clay had. Rueban obviously had the power of prayer behind him. I realize that I am outnumbered here but I think the one who one last night (rueban) is the one who deserved to win. sure clay is very talented but he is not an "american idol" he needs to be in stage plays or opera or something. i can see Rueban on mtv and vh1. I'm glad it turned out the way it did. [IMG]

Clay's church is actually pretty small... compared to Ruben's... at least... to hold as many people as they had supporting him

Clay needs to learn how to keep his mouth locked when he's surprised... it wasn't very intelligent looking LOL But he's so honest... and so much more humble than when he began... I hope God used this whole experience to teach him a great deal. [IMG]

that's not true... all of my African American friends love Clay and Ruben... and most didn't even vote for fear of being the deciding factor [IMG] [IMG]

No, its because I know exactly how you people think. Youre all brainwashed to the core. You worry more about others perception of yourselves than you do about TRUTH!
