Voters now trust Republicans more than Democrats on six out of 10 key issues, including the top issue of the economy.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 45% now trust the GOP more to handle economic issues, while 39% trust Democrats more.

This is the first time in over two years of polling that the GOP has held the advantage on this issue. The parties were close in May, with the Democrats holding a modest 44% to 43% edge. The latest survey was taken just after General Motors announced it was going into bankruptcy as part of a deal brokered by the Obama administration that gives the government majority ownership of the failing automaker.

Voters not affiliated with either party now trust the GOP more to handle economic issues by a two-to-one margin.

Shows how fickle and ignorant the majority of American's are. They made their O'bed...it's time to sleep in it.

This can only help the 2010 elections, though

That is bad news! Americans need to begin a mass exodus from the Republican and Democratic parties. Neither party is good for this nation at this point. Both parties are the same old, same old. The other day I heard one of Obama's speeches against terrorism compared to one of Bush's. It was the exact same speech. Maybe a few words changed here and there, but it was the same speech. And you know what? Democrats cheered it. Republicans condemned it. You see, it is not about the policy for most of these people. Its time for a real change.

All people are doing right now is ping ponging from one party to the other. As long as that is happening nothing will change. When will people realize that?

Its like I have been saying, The conservatives in the Republican Party need to band together & do one of two things:

    1. Boot the moderates out of the Republican Party & take back control.

    Or

    2. The conservatives within the Republican Party need to form a new, conservative party. Doing this would weaken the moderates who remain Republicans.

There can't be any in betweens or middle ground on this.

I would rather see republican reform than a new party. As this poll shows, this is still a two party country, and I don't see that changing prior to Christ's return. Boot the liberals out of the GOP. Ignorant America wouldn't know what to do with a third party.

The mistake Americans made with electing Democrats into the majority is they trusted, but they didn't verify!
