Not AFTER the fact. You're still trying to close the barn door and the horse is already gone!

    Hi Cerise and welcome!

Good points in your post. I think you're right when you say that we in western Europe are so heartily sick of war after many centuries of doing it that now we will only support a war if we are sure it is totally justified - and I don't think this one is. You're also right in that we don't (yet) have the crazy gun culture that the US has (thank the Lord!)

Ernie, there are many alternatives to war in this situation - the US could stop giving unequivocal support to Israel, for starters - then there'd be far less Muslims who hate the US for you to get all worried about.

    Yours in Christ

    Matt

Have you read in the Bible what will happen to the nations that turn their back on Israel?

I take it that you don't oppose Roe vs Wade then?

Many in UK are use to terrorist killing their fellow countrymen and have gotten use to it when their leaders didn't do anything about it... mainly because they didn't have the fire power.

Now they expect us to do the same... We sorry, we won't be joining the SDC (sitting duck club). We choose to live in a country where the bad guys have to deal with the end our our police weapons of choice. So next time one comes knocking at our door they or their home will most likely die. If you live in one of those homes with the bad guys, you may need to start cleaning house or face our wrath.

It's time for all countries to work together and clean our house of evil.

I have so many thoughts on this subject, yet never waiver on US reasoning for war. Sadam is a cultist - much like Hitler. Sadam kills his own people; let alone ours! Sadam withholds food and medicines from his people and allows his sons to rape and kill women for sport - an every Friday night event says those who live around them.

The people of Iraq are in bondage, parallel to the Pharoah's hand over Moses people during that time period. How could we refuse to liberate the Iraqy people? Moses didn't refuse to liberate his people from the Egyptians. It was God's plan all along.

The Iraqy people are hungry, sick, scared and tired of Sadam's regime. I'm proud to be an American, and thankful that the Lord sent us President Bush. God is still in control!

Sue, no-one is asking you to 'turn your back' on Israel; I do not oppose Israel, just some of the more extreme acts of violence she perpetrates. Even of you adopt a view that sees Israel as the fulfilment of eschatological prophecy, that surely doesn't mean you give hercarte blanche to act illegally, and then financially aid those actions? If you do, do you not become implicated in her crimes as an accessory?

Of course I do. That is a law that I am trying to get overturned. That's a little different than trying to stop a war that's already in progress.

Also, InHim: We have found weapons and have the proof you've been asking for...do you believe it now? [IMG]

I understand what you are saying Matt. And my answer is, I sure hope not. I'm just not sure how you can refuse aid to a country without turning your back on her.

    Blessings,

I wanted to post this 2 days ago but I had to wait for my registration. For anyone who opposed the war or still opposes it. Listen to this Iraqi-American describe what we are doing. For those that do not have audio I have transcribed it -- but you cannot understand it unless you hear this ladies voice.

Angie: Yes...hi...I love listening to your show -- I listen to it all the time. I just want to say that I was born in Iraq and I left Iraq when I was 17 and I came to a country that accepted me for who I am. Iraq never accepted me because of my religion I was a second hand citizen over there because I was Christian. Iraq people are dead. Bush in not killing Iraqi people; our troops are not killing Iraqi children. Saddam killed them a long time ago and thank god for Bush. Finally there is a man who can speak for Iraqi children. I know a lot of people will die and that is sad but Iraqi people are dead. You just don't how bad it is living under that regime. So for those people -- for those Americans who are ignorant about what is going on in Iraq please understand Iraqi people are dead; they have no voice; we cannot speak our mind; we cannot practice our religion and this is the only country; THANK GOD FOR AMERICA. You just don't know - you should appreciate this country -- you just don't know how lucky you are and you know I am a citizen and I am a proud to be an American. (starts to cry) And shame on those Americans that talk like that about our troops. Shame on them -- Bush never killed anybody -- Saddam has been killing all these children. I cannot speak my mind because if I speak my mind (starts to really cry) he will cut my tongue over there; he will rape our children in front of our eyes; you just don't know how bad it is. So for those ignorant people please shut up. Ok -- thats all I have to say. I am so proud -- so proud to be an American. Thank you for listening.
