    Good news:

    Gen 9:5-6
5 And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man. 6 Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed:for in the image of God made he man.

What if they are innocent, but convicted? We know this happens.
What if justice is not fairly meted out? We know we have a long history of this.

Are you living under OT law or Christ and grace?

You did not answer my questions.

    What about;

    those convicted, but are innocent?
    those convicted unjustly?
those guilty, but not punished justly?
those convicted and sentenced to death primarily because of race?
those convicted but not sentenced to death because of race?

And if scripture is going to be quoted, "Let him without sin cast the first stone."

In another thread it was shown that there were 8 POSSIBLE innocent death sentences carried out. But in the 4 years that there was no death penalty, murder rose by 3000/yr. What about those innocents?

Yes, another Democrat has learned to ignore the will of the people and institute policies by the stroke of a pen.

    From the article:

In Washington state, legislative efforts to abolish the death penalty have received public hearings in past years, but they've never gained political traction.

Lawmakers have previously rejected opportunities to pass such measures over the years, "because the public and Legislature support keeping that tool."

BTW, this guy won election in a squeaker. He received barely 51% of the vote.

Pure politics. If you want to call that "good news," feel free. He's a near-Marxist in a liberal state who is copying the actions of his Dear Leader in Washington, governing by pen and by phone. The law of the state says those nine men are to be executed based on the evidence, but he's throwing the evidence out and ruling by fiat.

Is this really how you want to be governed? It didn't work in the Soviet Union, it didn't work in China, it didn't work in Cuba, it isn't working in Venezuela. It won't work here, but our traitorous Marxist Democrats are bound and determined to make it be so regardless of the advisability or predictable outcome. This attitude is going to destroy this nation. It isn't about the death penalty, it's about the rule of law, which Democrats have obviously decided does not matter, because the law is whatever they unilaterally decide it is.

Nothing illustrates the folly of how democrats deal with criminals better than how they handled Willie Horton.

That Maryland judge is my hero. Rubbed it in Dukakis' face pretty well.

I can top that...Charles Manson died an old man in prison, costing the American taxpayers 100 million dollars.
God is not mocked, and California famously did away with the death penalty right before the Sharon Tate murders.

What if God commanded us to do it, because if we let murderers off the hook, the whole world gets filled with evil?
    Ecc 8:11
11 Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.

    Gen 4:13-15
13 And Cain said unto the Lord, My punishment is greater than I can bear.
14 Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me.
15 And the Lord said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the Lord set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.

    Strike one

    Gen 4:23-24
23 And Lamech said unto his wives,
    Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice;
ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech:
For I have slain a man to my wounding,
And a young man to my hurt.
24 If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold,
    Truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold.

    Strike two.

    Gen 6:5
5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
    CAUSE AND EFFECT

    Gen 9:5-6
5 And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man. 6 Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed:for in the image of God made he man.

    Solved!

"Let him without sin cast the first stone" is the most taken-out-of-context quote from our savior.

Jesus is not stopping a court-ordered execution, he is stopping an unlawful lynch mob, in that episode. He is not addressing the death penalty.

Even less, Jesus is staying out of it, because he wasn't given the legal authority to be a judge in Israel, at that time.

The purpose of the men who brought her, was to trip Jesus up, so that they could legally get rid of Him.
So He , as usual, expertly dodged, and instead showed them their sin.

Exactly. Had the mob been seeking justice, they would have also brought before Jesus the man caught with her -- she was "caught in adultery," which meant there was a man present. But they didn't bother to apprehend him. They had no interest in justice. Simply by ignoring his sin, they themselves had broken the law, for by the Law of Moses, both were to be stoned, not just one of them.

How do you know it was not court ordered. We are not given all the details.

Strange how blood thirsty some are.

Not solved in the least. You just quote scripture and ignore all the teachings of Christ ... and do not give your own opinion on those I asked about.

Really? You want to go with that as your response? I say this knowing that you know, Scripture is the collected teachings of Christ, so quoting Scripture is quoting Christ's teachings.

Not the Old Testament. Christ and grace are the New Testament.
