Obama has stated that this country lost its moral authority when the Bush Administration used the technique called water boarding to extract information from the most recalcitrant terrorists including the mastermind of 9/11. He has indicated that those involved in this practice will be investigated for possible prosecution. They will at least undergo persecution.

Yet this man has no problem with the slaughter of unborn children including the practice called Partial Birth Abortion. In fact he even supported, as an Illinois State senator, with holding medical care from aborted babies born alive.

This is the typical leftist position in this country; coddle our enemies and [crude remarks deleted] with the unborn. Obviously I believe Obama is a very immoral person!

What have 3 Republican presidents done to stop abortion during 20 years of Republican administrations? They talk big but do almost nothing. The number of abortions went down faster under Clinton than it did under Bush.

I call this hypocrisy of the worst kind.

I saw Obama on TV talking about "moral authority". In order to keep from "puking" I started this thread. Didn't help much!

True, Obama has done more about abortion than all of the Presidents for the past twenty years - both Republican and Democrat combined.

HE IS OPENLY AND FLAGRANTLY FUNDING, AUTHORIZING, PROMOTING AND SUPPORTING ABORTION.

Which is just what he promised to do before you voted for him, alatide.

So you should be happy, alatide.

You are getting exactly what you voted for.

You really need some new material, but when one does not understand the issues, material is limited.

How many times are you going to use the inaction of Republican presidents on the issue of abortion to lessen the guilt of the present administration or your support of it? If I am going 80 in a 70 zone and get a ticket, when someone going 90 just passed my by, that does not make my guilt any less. You seem to have a real problem with that concept.

Not one poster on this thread is approving the actions of the past two Republican presidents on the issue of abortion. The issue at hand is the Obama administration's flagrant and obsessive determination to push the agenda, which was not the case during the administrations before this one. Granted, nothing much was done to stop them, but the issued was not pushed like it is now. There is a difference, not much, but a difference.

Now, back to your case. Would you please explain to us again how your repeatedly using the name of Bush the First and Bush the Second justifies what is going on now?

You are not really interested in getting the slaughter stopped, or one, you would stop your insane support of the present government, and two, you would get it through your head that the only way it is going to be stopped is to elect those who will govern by the Constitution.

Ummm... you both do realize that you are quoting and responding to a person who has already been banned, right? It's not like he is going to answer you.

Anything done by the government takes time to work its way through... usually a lot of time. Just like the prosperity under Clinto was the result of what Reagan had done, the lower number of abortions came from the work of Reagan and Bush, Sr.

Regarding the OP, I would rather be waterboarded than to be tortured the way the Muslims do the prisoners they take. It's funny how they can torture, main, kill, and behead the prisoner they capture... and we become the scandal of the world because we used a method that doe not physical harm to the person. Go figure.

If he remains true to form he will be back in a day or two under a different name... that is if he has not already been posting under two names all along.

About the only positive thing Bush did was to try to help Africa with its terrible AIDS problem. Other than that he was morally bankrupt and did, indeed, loose much moral authority in the way other countries viewed the US.

I am against abortion, but know there is little that Congress or the president can do about it. It is up to the Supreme Court and I do not believe they will do much either ... not if the potential justices, who are now sitting on the bench, were telling the truth when they were being considered by Congress.

    Hello,

"Water in the face". Not exactly. But wording it like that sounds innocent enough, despite the reality of it.

Does the Bible speak of this situation, the limits in treating a person who can ultimately affect the lives of many - terrorist?

Personally, if I had the enormous responsibility of protecting the country, I would do anything necessary to prevent the loss of life. I would then pray for forgiveness even though I know tomorrow I may have to allow torture to say lives.

I hope that doesn't make me a bad person.

I do think people should be prosecuted for this.

Since all the power of the federal government rests with the President, Congress, and the Supreme Court, who is it that you think can do something about the problem if they cannot?

Two conservative judges were appointed during the Bush years. When it comes to abortion, answers like "there is little Congress or the President can do about it" is not acceptable. The real answer is there is nothing they will do about it. The obvious solution to the problem is to elect people that will do something about it.

Your constant parroting the same line that Bush is morally bankrupt does nothing to solve the problem, does it? If party A is not the solution, and party B is not the solution, maybe a party C needs to be in office. Duh.

I think anyone who voted for the slaughterer of unborn children, Barak Hussein Obama, is morally bankrupt. One of the first acts of this person who you support after his inauguration was to restore Federal Aid for the slaughter of the unborn in foreign countries. So you are directly responsible for the slaughter of the unborn.

    Well...
I believe in castrating men who molest little boys and girls and leaving them in the desert to bleed to death.
I believe in hanging people who kill innocents for the money they had in their pockets.
I believe in putting people in little small boxes made of iron bars after they have shown that they can not stop stealing and robbing from other people .
And I'm for torturing ANYBODY that knows where the bomb is that is going to kill more innocent people.
When the last person on this earth stops molesting children, stealing, and killing people, then you can procecute me under man's law for defending the innocent.
    Until then.....
help stop the evil of murder, molestation, and theft,
or explain why you are a part of it.
