Matthew. Nicodemus. Zacchaeus. Mary Magdalene. Peter. Saul/Paul. Bethsheba. The list goes on...

God can use mere men too, Donna! He does it every Sunday! I, for one, think this movie will touch many lives and thank God that Mel Gibson took this risk with his $30 million dollars (that God gave him through his gift of acting) and made a movie which most probably will ruin his career.

I'm sick of all the ugliness these threads have produced and am finished discussing this. I'm ashamed of us! What will the unsaved world see in us through these posts? Notice I said US to include myself.

It's nice to see the women here do all the talking! :D

I am going out on a date with a female friend to see the movie tonight. She's seen it once already, and I can't wait to see it, too.
I am thinking about the passage in Isaiah 53, the Song of the Suffering Savior.

LadyEagle, although we have done battle regarding KJV-onlyism, I am thankful that you have seen the movie and have defended it. I think you are a blessing to this BB.

From what I saw, there are no ERRORS in the movie. There are some things that might be colored because of Mel's catholicism (though certainly not explicit). Anyone who knows me knows that I absolutely HATE catholic theology. The movie was fine.

The movie is NOT the same as the gospel or evangelism. All it is is historical fact regarding the KIND of suffering Christ went through, and what it was like to stand before the various rulers of the day.

There are alot of conversations Jesus had with people that are not recorded in Scripture.

As I said, it isn't the gospel. The movie does not call you to repent or to actually believe in Christ for salvation. It does mention some things regarding salvation.

One other thing about it, at least the Jews and Romans didn't have long hair. Unfortunately, the actor who played Christ had hair longer than what I believe he had.

I strongly recommend not letting anyone under 15 to see the movie.

Can someone tell me the Eucharist connection to the Cross?

Is it the timing of the flashbacks?

</font>[/QUOTE]God does not approve of and use the preversion of His word. If He did, then satan doing it would have been acceptable.

I asked if anyone could give scripture to show there was nothing worng with the nun's vision from which this movie was clearly written from.

So far those who are normally so biblically based have done nothing but defend error as if it were scripture.

What ERROR are you talking about? Stop with the mindless rhetoric about promoting ERROR when you are not naming something that is ERROR.

It has pleased God through the foolishness of preaching to win the lost. Do we mortals think our portrayals of the message are perfect? God can USE anything, even this film.

As a preacher of the gospel, I have ZERO intention of ever even referring to this as an evangelistic tool. However, I found NOTHING about the movie to be in ERROR.

Daniel David, brother, compare the subtitles to the Bible text, then decide if this film is really 100% free from error. [IMG]

God never uses heresy, delirious visions of a mutilation masochist mystic, idolatry, or blatant disregard for biblical accuracy...all of which are in this fantasy film THE PASSION...to advance His Kingdom of purity and righteousness.

Mel based many scenes on AC Emmerichs' writings, he said so repeatedly in interviews and such.

Emmerich is wacky, like some televangelists that Baptists love to criticize and disdain.

Rather inconsistent to praise Mel Gibson and condemn Benny Hinn. Think about it.

vaspers, to insert something into a story doesn't make it an error. The Bible does not give a 24/7 of Christ's events on the earth.

You are trying to muddy this discussion with empty rhetoric. Save the diatribe for those who will pat you on the back for being so spiritual. I have yet to see an ERROR listed. There are some places where Mel (whom I believe is still lost so I am not getting theology from him) just try to fill in where the Scriptures do not say.

I don't care for the visions of lost catholics anymore than the ravenous antics put on by those who cry foul and error yet haven't produced any.

Agreed! This movie is opening doors to talking to absolute strangers about Jesus Christ & having them be receptive to the Gospel - that in itself is awesome! [IMG]

"The Passion" is the most awesome movie I have ever seen. I am recommending it to family and friends, and will be seeing it with family members tomorrow night.

This movie has already given me many opportunities to talk to family member and co-workers about Jesus!

I wonder if Trinity Broadcating Network, Carman, or John Haggee ministries would have made this movie, if there would have been as much Charistmatic bashing as there is Catholic bashing regarding this film? I wonder if Jack Chick is writing a new Comic book on this? :D

It is sad to see people who call themselves

    *CHRISTIAN*

Slander and Blaspheme something that shows what Christ did for us.

We should be thankful that the movie is opening doors to the lost.

I'm afraid though that those that are putting the movie down will turn the lost from church by their anti-christ like spirit. Legalism is sending people to Hell.
No one wants to be like a self righteous, legalistic, know-it-all, christian. (little "c" intentional.)
That's why we have lost 2 generations to Satan.
Someone dropped the ball 40 years ago.
someone thought that since God never changes then the church shouldn't change either.

They put down CCM, MVs, and other things that God uses to bring the lost to them. And then when their church attendance drops below 75, They pat themselves on the back by saying that they are part of some type of "remnant", cult more like it. I'm serious. Look up the definition of a cult. If any Church claims to have cornered the Truth, RUN!!!!

I'm glad to be part of the number no man can number, not a handful of mis-guided souls that are becoming stumblingblocks to the seekers.

Face it if you are against Christ, you are anti-Christ.

    Do I sound Angry?
I am. When Christians blaspheme something that God gives us to win the lost to Christ. I do get angry.

Just sit around decrying The Passion all you want, I'm going to the fields to harvest souls.
    It's time for the harvest!!!!

I usually don't just applaud someone else's post, but I must say...AMEN, tinytim! You have boldly spoken some powerful truths that I wish we all would realize and apply to our lives (myself included).
