In the garden of Eden mankind was told to eat all they wanted except for a certain fruit. Bang. Adam and Eve ate the wrong fruit and were expelled from Paradise.

In Geneses 12:1, we find the following

"Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of they country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:"

verse 2 and 3, God prvided Abram an "unconditional" promise. God promised to protect Abram against all odds. So what did Abram do?

Verse 4, "So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him; and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran."

...and LOT WENT WITH HIM? What happened to the original instruction of departing From Thy Kindred?

Just like with Adam and Eve, Abram did not follow the instruction(s) of the Lord.

Aren't we like that today? Still not following clear and unmistakable instructions from the Lord? I would think we are. Hey, lets shoot for the "blessings" and stop all the nonsense.
