    Apparently the pro-NIV denominational translations committee encountered much opposition at an open forum yesterday.

    The synod voted to study making its own translation.

    The pro-NIV translations committee was permitted another chance to salvage its agenda:

    "Plan B" calls for a ballot at the dozen regional WELS meetings next year. To be approved for use in denominational publications, the new NIV must secure 2/3 approval.
