I BELIEVE the strength of our nation lies with the individual and that each person's dignity, freedom, ability and responsibility must be honored.

Hard to reconcile that with the support of the Patriot Act.

I BELIEVE in equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, sex, age or disability.

I believe sexual orientation should be on that list.

I BELIEVE free enterprise and encouraging individual initiative have brought this nation opportunity, economic growth and prosperity.

    They have. No doubt.

I BELIEVE government must practice fiscal responsibility and allow individuals to keep more of the money they earn.

If only. The actions of the last two republicans do not represent that bullet point well.

I BELIEVE the proper role of government is to provide for the people only those critical functions that cannot be performed by individuals or private organizations, and that the best government is that which governs least.

Again, this is a laugher. Corporate bailouts began under G.W. Bush.

I BELIEVE the most effective, responsible and responsive government is government closest to the people.

    Agree.

I BELIEVE Americans must retain the principles that have made us strong while developing new and innovative ideas to meet the challenges of changing times.

    Yup.

I BELIEVE Americans value and should preserve our national strength and pride while working to extend peace, freedom and human rights throughout the world.

Disagree. This statement justifies being the world's police, and we now can see the disasterous results.

FINALLY, I believe the Republican Party is the best vehicle for translating these ideals into positive and successful principles of government.

Let's keep this one on ice, and revisit it in say...three or four years.

I BELIEVE the strength of our nation lies with the individual and that each person's dignity, freedom, ability and responsibility must be honored.

Agree with Curtis about the patriot acts and I would add the Military Commissions act, extraordinary renditions and torture and of course TSA groping.

I BELIEVE in equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, sex, age or disability.

Unless you happen to be a US veteran, especially a sick or disabled US veteran.

I BELIEVE free enterprise and encouraging individual initiative have brought this nation opportunity, economic growth and prosperity.

Then why do we keep bailing out the monopoly men that have robbed this nation's wealth and shipped our jobs overseas?

I BELIEVE government must practice fiscal responsibility and allow individuals to keep more of the money they earn.

Then why do we shield the Federal Reserve and Wall Street from accountability?

I BELIEVE the proper role of government is to provide for the people only those critical functions that cannot be performed by individuals or private organizations, and that the best government is that which governs least.

Unless there is some outside threat whether real or imagined. Then government has to be doubled in size (under Bush) and all power concentrated in the executive.

I BELIEVE the most effective, responsible and responsive government is government closest to the people.

We say while bending the knee to the federal gods.

I BELIEVE Americans must retain the principles that have made us strong while developing new and innovative ideas to meet the challenges of changing times.

Then why did Bush repeal habeas corpus "read the Military Commissions Act" and adopt a program of international kidnapping and torture? We tossed away our principles when we adopted the ways of history's worst tyrants.

I BELIEVE Americans value and should preserve our national strength and pride while working to extend peace, freedom and human rights throughout the world.

Hillary Clinton says the same thing to justify Obama's illegal wars in Libya and Syria.

FINALLY, I believe the Republican Party is the best vehicle for translating these ideals into positive and successful principles of government.

But if you don't support our favored nominee we'll demonize and marginalize you and do everything we can to shut you up including but not limited to breaking all our own rules.

I Believe the words in this platform brings into sharp focus the total hypocrisy of the republican party when compared to it's actions.
