Now that some of the Pharisees have spoken.

    I finished High school.

Learned at the feet of Jesus for approximately 12 years, and then received my license and later ordination from the fellowship I am currently affiliated with.

    Tam,

Is the Pharisee comment a joke? I don't know everyone here on the board all that well and don't know how to take certain comments. I certainly hope that I did not give anyone that impression by answering the question. I certainly do not think that I am better than anyone else, far from it, actually.

I am sorry if I offended anyone.

    BA in Literature

Currently have 30 hrs. of seminary, working towards a Masters in Religion and then maybe continuing on to a Masters in Apologetics

    Tam,
Someone started this thread, out of curiosity I suppose, to see what degrees various BB posters might have. No need to get your dishtowels in a bunch over it and call people Pharisees just becaues they have degrees. That was mean spirited and uncalled for.

:D sorry. I just couldn't resist!ROFLOL!!! It was just one of those things I thought was funny! I guess it should have been directed at the one who asked the question!! [IMG] [IMG]
    \0/ PTL.

IMOHO it just doesn't matter much how many degrees and doctorates you have; It's what you do for Jesus with what you've got.

Anyway, sorry if I offended, I just couldn't resist!

I actually agree with TL, boasting in our weaknesses rather then glorying in our strengths (I got a good chuckle over it too). Thats why I posted, "barely made it through highschool" lest anyone think more of me.

Paul rejoiced in his weaknesses not his strengths except for the occassion when he said he spoke as a fool.

As Paul said, "As for those who SEEMED IMPORTANT they added nothing to him.

I "got it" TL I thought it was kinda cute.

    God Bless

    That was absolutely uncalled for.

Higher education is an admirable pursuit. It allows us to learn more about God, more about God's universe, more about the social institutions which we hope will serve God. It is good for the self, and it is good for others.

This is not to denigrate those who have "only" finished high school. That's absolutely fine, too. You can serve God as least as well as anyone with a higher degree. But to insult those who do have those degrees is petty.

Well, first off I barely finished highschool myself. I dropped out then went back to get a high school diploma from the community college. Finished that then messed around in college not knowing what I was going to do. Jesus Christ saved me and I started to follow His plan for me. I went back to college and earned a BS degree because I believe that's what God wanted me to do.

</font>[/QUOTE]Brett, in my mind, I picture the quote above spoken with a 'deep English accent.' Kinda like an English butler. Know what I mean? ;)

    MEE,

When I read it I didn't know how to take it. After all, I was just posting on an on going thread. It hurt my feelings because there is NO way on earth that I think a degree makes me any better that another. Tam explained in a later post that she wasn't trying to hurt anyone's feelings. I guess I just need to get a tougher skin.

For myself I successfully finished high school, which is a greater feat than is given credit for, as I was expelled at least once, I was banned for a month from attending religious classes as I offended the teacher there (another story!)

    General Nurse Certificate
    Coronary Care Certificate
    Bachelor of Nursing (post registration)
    Master of Nursing (incomplete)
