If you only had 90 minutes once a week for 12 weeks, what would you teach a brand new Christian?

    Great Commandment
    1. Worship - of God with whole being
    2. Ministry - to Others
    Great Commission
    3. Evangelism - sharing the Gospel/make disciples
    4. Fellowship - in local church body
    5. Education - teaching all things (example and doctrinal basis)

That is the basis of our home bible studies and of our new member program.

Been teaching that for years, before there WAS a Saddleback church! Had it printed on the front of our church bulletins back in the 70's.

BTW, be careful what you imply about PDL et al. I get a little defensive.

I would do like Jesus did by taking them with me to do ministry and teaching them while we do ministry.

I would stress the importance of developing a personal relationship with the Lord thru' prayer and reading the Word, a daily quiet time, and to never be afraid to ask questions.
