    Catchafire - Toby Mac

it's skipping on me - so next is: What's Going Down - Toby Mac

and if anybody knows who originally did the intro to "what's going down" please let me know.

it was played on the movie Forrest Gump - and i can't figure out what song it is or who made it...

    God Bless!

Not sure what song you mean. I just looked at the Gump soundtrack track listing and didn't see that song on there.

Could you be thinking of "What's Going On", by Marvin Gaye?

Well I listened to the Ramones and the Riverdales, now I'm listening to some slammin' rockabilly tunes. After this I suspect I'll be listening to Johnny Cash, and more rockabilly, and a little blues (Lightnin' Hopkins).

Nowadays I like to listen to Johnny Cash and rockabilly and blues more, but as far as when I play instruments I still like playin' more rockish/Ramones type stuff. Lord willing I'll learn how to really play one of these days and play different stuff. I wanna play a stand up bass, and learn blues on guitar.

    I'm done blabbing.

Grace and Peace be with you,
    Dustin

no no. i'm listening to "What's Going Down" by Toby Mac.
this song isn't on the Gump soundtrack...

BUT -- the intro to this song... is on the movie - when they're walking through Vietnam i think.

the song on the movie is performed by someone else - and the lyrics are different. but the tune is the same.

    God Bless!

That's called "For What it's Worth" by The Buffalo Springfield, featuring a young Neil Young.

...and just for trivia's sake, even though we all call them just Buffalo Springfield, they actually are The Buffalo Springfield.

So I dug out some Buffalo Springfield, and am listening to "Kind Woman".

    Now it's "A Child's Claim to Fame".

Interesting to hear those guys at that time. So much great music came from the bands that came out of that band.

Now I'm listening to Frank Zappa's Helsinki '73 concert, again, at a very high volume. Just replaced several output transistors & drivers, and a few bias resistors on an old Pioneer SX reciever, gotta make sure it'll pass the stress test. FZ's guitar solo in "Inca Roads" oughtta put it through the paces.
