I use IE on my Mac only because Netscape grew into a bloated useless browser that crashed on the sites I wanted to use it on.

I am using Firefox 0.9.3 on my laptop (windows) havent had time to upgrade yet.

And Mozilla 1.4.1 on Solaris 8 at home
Havent felt like downloading and configuring firefox, although I am getting close with all the stupid pop up windows on weather.com. Mozilla's pop up blocker is garbage, firefox just seems to work out of the box.

I downloaded Firefox about a week ago. A few sites that uploaded extremely slow before on IE now come up just fine. Also, I had a google bar on IE with settings to stop pop-ups. Most of them were stopped but on a few news sites that I liked to use I would get at least one pop-up every day. With Firefox I have not had one pop-up on any site. I also like the tabs across the top.

Same here, Adam. [IMG] I installed Firefox last night, and I am still using IE, so I am just trying out FireFox to see if I like it better. [IMG] So far, both browsers are fine in my book. [IMG]

I have noticed that last night. [IMG] It switched me back to IE for the Windows Update website...which is fine since I want my computer to be up to date. [IMG]

    Nancy,

There is an extension available that will help you out. Click 'Tools', 'Extensions', 'Get more extensions'. Look for one called "WindowsUpdate".

It automatically opens IE and goes to the Windows Update Site.

    In Christ,
    Trotter

Sun Microsystems now uses Mozilla as their standard browser. There are already compiled binaries on their site, and mozilla.org for firefox, thunderbird, and mozilla for solaris 10, which is still in late beta testing.

I don't know why anyone would have problems with sites showing properly, unless they were made with front page, which does not make the site standards compliant, it only makes it work in IE properly. If you use html 4.1 and css, firefox and mozilla actually show the site better than IE.

I use IE. My statistics for all my hosted sites show 98% and some change who visit use IE. I've tried others, but just stick with IE as I use and have implemented automatic updates company wide. Plus, the plugins I use are IE only. By auto-updates, well configured firewall, and the AV setup I have implemented, we haven't been nailed by the worms, etc., that so many bemoan.

I don't have an anti-MS bias though, so I've taken the time to make what I have work as opposed to just moving to something else (which may have opportunities of its own.)
