Parents and young people, as I look over the threads in this topic it seems that we are occupied with other issues than teaching the youth to be servants of the Lord.

Young people can be effect witnesses also. What do you do to serve the Lord and reach the lost?

What do I do for the Lord? My best. I'm not much, and still I marvel that God wanted me, but I love Him and want to do His will.
What do I do for Him? I read my Bible faithfully, attend church as long as I'm not deathly sick, dress modestly, try to stay in a prayerful mood all through out the day, sing hymns as a way of worship, write inspirational short stories, I try to pass out tracts everywhere I go, go on visitation every Saturday with my church. Well, lets see...I guess the Bible is full of things that we should do for the Lord, and I know I lack a lot! I guess naming my faults might be easier.
Sometimes I get discouraged, because I seem to have a lot of faults, and at times I feel like I fail worse than anybody. I get frustrated with myself more than anyone, I guess.
One things for sure, If God can use me, He can use ANYONE!
This is a great topic btw.

Well, I guess Saved by Grace is the only out there that wants to do something for the Lord. If I am wrong please respond. My children have not been called to do anything except to obey/honour their parents. But they all play instruments and we play and sing gospel music to the elderly people within our community.

As parents it is our job to instill in our children the willingness to serve and minister. In the Bible it says we are to feed the poor and take care of the fatherless and widow. As a family or sometimes just the big boys, help neighbors out with odds and ends household or outdoors chores.

Just this past week, my two oldest boys helped an elderly couple down the street move their wood stove out and put in a propane heater. While they were there, this couple had company, and they just talked about how good, mannerly and helpful my children were. Then later this couple said they were surprized that my children didn't come trick or treat. The boys said "We don't do that kind of stuff" Their response was "OH devils holiday, right?"

I am not telling you this to toot my horn or to brag on my children, however I am very pleased. But to encourage parents and children to always strive to be a light for Christ. Sometimes just being a blessing to someone that gets them thinking about things of God. [IMG]

Well, like Saved By Grace, I just try to do my best for the Lord.. I am involved in the Choir, Nursery, Bus ministry and the youth group at church. I go out soulwinning to tell others about the Lord. I am just trying to do what the Lord has called me to do at this time in my life before He comes and takes ME HOME!!!!!!

Good for you savedgirl, keep it up. I am glad that there are two who try to serve the Lord. But maybe you two are the only young ones on the board. Encourage you friends to serve the Lord. You are the future for Christ! [IMG]
