What do you do when you've given up all hope? What do you do when everything you set your hand to fails? What do you do when you've failed as a husband, a father, and just at life in general?

You let go. You don't care anymore. You go through the motions without any emotion behind the act. You tune out the world, the Word, and the Lord.

I guess that's what I'm doing, seeing that my life is in shambles. I no longer care about anything or anybody. I can no longer pretend like I care. That just adds more stress to an already stressful situation.

I've enjoyed interacting with everyone here, but it's time to go. I no longer know if I hold to my Christian convictions, and posting here just adds another voice that screams "Hypocrite."

    Take care,

    Adam

Hey, Adam, sometimes we only think we've failed or feel like we've failed when we really haven't.

    Please check your PMs.

    Your Friend.

Please, don't assume you're down for the count. You know, that there are reasons that sometimes, only God knows, for things that we go through. 'If He leads you to it, He'll take you through it'. And, good thing is, when you come through it, you'll find you're a lot stronger. Even if it's hard to think that way now, you know it's true. Hang in there.

    Hey, that's me!

I cast my burden upon the Lord! I am a miserable husband. I am hopeless as a father. And life in general? I'm one big screw up after another.

I look unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of my faith.

Let me say this, you are not far from the Kingdom of Heaven. As long as you are aware that you are nothing, that you're not a man but a worm, then there is no where else to look but to Jesus.

Look unto Jesus and be ye saved!

When we're weak God is strong.
If you need a hiatus take it, just don't fall into the trap of not thinking.
Being a dad and a husband and a person is hard. God knows that. you may not be able to fix your mistakes, but you can make them not so bad and move on.
If you can't fix something leave it and go to something else. But first ask God to fix it.

Went through those emotions not too long ago! Coming out of it was like emerging from a tunnel, although I couldn't see any light for a while. :(
I'm sorry you're having such a hard time. Will you do me a favor and even if it does feel like just going through the motions, still keep up with prayer and a little bible reading? Sometimes things will just jump out at you unexpectedly. [IMG]

    HeDied4You!!

Son! He really did die for you!! And He ain't finished givin' you life because of that!! He rose from the dead for you---and He rose from the dead carrying you with Him--that's right---we were "raised with Christ!"--when He came out of that grave--you did too!!

I sometimes want to quit this board--but have been here long enough---its like an old man trying to give up cigarettes!! Every puff is his "last one!" "No more!", says he!! But in about 10-15 minutes, guess what!! Gotta fire one up!! Fresh cup of coffee to go along with it!!

I don't pay no mind to anyone's foolishness on this board--nor do I mind if they "trash" me for being a tee-toter--or don't go on tours of "haunted houses"--or can barely speak English--much less the jibber-jabber they do it in!! What they gonna do?? Reach out and "pop" me one through their computer screen??!!

Surround yourself with friends--brothers and sisters, if you have any! Church members--go to work and take all the overtime your boss will let you!! Keep your brain busy!! Call on Jesus--remember, now--that whatever water is over your head--is under His feet!!

There's been times when I would tell myself--"That was my last sermon!! I ain't preachin' no more!! I'll go to truck drivin' school or something!"---get myself on the road away from everybody--my wife and kids can live with her momma in Alabama--I'll check in every now and then!! I'll love them the same if they are there, too! But everyday---I make my mind up--I can make it! I can do this thing! I can choose to love my wife and kids! It ain't worth leavin'!! God bless your heart, fella! I know it ain't nothin' but words on a computer screen to you--but I really do love HeDied4You!!

There are folks even on this board who want to help you and love you---lots more Samaritans here than you think!!

    Your buddy,
    Blackbird

I pray you hang in there and know that God is at work in you...He desires to make us lean on Him,so that He can produce in us more character and hope....your humbleness shows your need for Christ, and He is there to help you. I don't know what is going on with you,but I do know God is a present help in time of trouble.

Your family needs you, your wife and children need you desparately. I'm speaking as a wife and mother...be strong in the Lord...

    HeDiedForYou --

I have read many of your posts, and have come to
appreciate you. So, of course, this was difficult
    for me to read.

However, I have been where you are. I thank my
God that I did not carry through with my plans,
because what I could not see through finite eyes
was that the break was just around the corner. I
am So Glad that I didn't carry through with my
    own impotent plans--Oh, So Glad!

I beg you, HeDiedForYou, to stop, back up, and
just be still. Please don't make anyu major
decisions right now, because they will not be
    the right ones.

Please allow us to pray for you while you give
    yourself time for quiet healing.

And please at least tell us how you are--please!

If you are His child, feed on His promises:

He's promised to love you forever. Jer 31:3

He's promised that He would never leave you. Heb 13:5

He's promised to never put you in a situation that's more than you can bear. 1 Cor 10:13

He's promised to fill your heart with joy. John 15:11;16:24,33

He's promised to welcome all who come to Him. John 6:37

He's promised to hear all your prayers. Luke 11:9-10

He's promised to give you the strength you need for every situation. Phil 4:13

He's promised to be a father to you by providing for you and protecting you. Gen 22:14;Isaiah 64:8

He's promised to forgive all your sins. 1 John 1:9

He's promised to keep you from harm. Psalm 121:7;John 10:28

He's promised that you'll join Him in heaven one day. John 6:40;14:3

Read these promises from God's word, meditate on them, see how much He does love you....it will be strength for you.

I hate being where you are right now. But you must realize that God is faithful, even when you feel like this.

Seek out the Lord. Seek out your fellow brothers in the Lord. It is hard. It takes a while. But I am praying for you.... and others are, too.

    Dear heavenly Father
Please be with this man today. Strengthen him Lord. He is hurting and feels very confused. I ask that you send some support for him, show him that there is hope. Lord help him to call on you in faith for help. I know you are there waiting for him to ask. We know that not all goes as we want. Job suffered much, but his faith was strong, help this gentleman to have the faith of Job, to stand and not be weary Lord. When we are weak, we are strong.
    In your name, Amen

Ever try writing a letter to God? In the letter you can list all your complaints. Why a letter? Why not just pray?

In a prayer, we tend to spout off the top of our heads and it bounces off the ceiling. A letter requires more thought and hence we think through what we have to say. We can balance the pros and cons, we can better evaluate where we stand and where we are going.

Jesus is standing on the water waiting for us to take that faith-step to Him. When we focus on Him, the surface fades into insignificance, and we walk hand in hand with Him, the One who calms the sea, and stills our soul.

My prayers are with you, but, my friend, the best prayer ever offered is the one you offer.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    HeDied4U,

Cast all your cares upon Him. Look to Jesus and He will guide you. Remember that no matter how you feel, your wife and children need You.

After you have cast your cares on Him, think about your wife and your children.

I would also suggest that you talk to someone you respect, a friend, your pastor. Sometimes talking will help you and we will all pray for you.

Well this is very unfortunate.I may not know you but as a fellow christian I am led to care about you. Please dont give up.I believe GODllows us to hit rock bottom so that we can depend and focus on him.Than he is able to build us up to where he wants us to be.GOD doesnot put more on us than we care bare. The devil and his dominion wants you to feel like you are all alone and that GOD cant care about you If you are feelin like this. That is so far from the truth.Seek GOD continualy. You may not get the answer you want today but believe that GOD is on the case, and in due season things will change.I take GOD at his word when he says you have not because you ask not.

GOD Bless and always remember..GOD Can??? you fill in the rest

You know what I did yesterday? Instead of repeating over and over to myself that we have not been given a spirit of fear, and thus trying to squash my fears, I finally just told God I was full of fear and told Him what it was that I feared! It was such a relief to just tell Him instead of worrying that He might be upset with me for being fearful!

I asked HIM to take care of this situation for me since I don't really know at this point what to do about it. He is faithful . . . nothing shall separate us from the love of God OR the love of Jesus! That makes me cry for joy!

So, though YOU feel you have messed everything up, no matter if you did or didn't, God LOVES you still . . . and Jesus LOVES you still! You can't kill that love!

You STILL have God and you STILL have Christ! The two that will never leave thee nor forsake thee!

As someone has pointed out, writing it all down is a wonderful way to present your burden honestly before the Lord.

    Julia
