Well like others have said, I too have been there. Screamimng out to God and not understanding what the heck I did to ask for this. But I did find out it was not anything I did but what I was not doing. That was asking HIM to help me. I remember sitting on my Apartment floor back in 1987, I lost my boyfriend, I lost my child, I lost my best friend, my boss had been killed in a horrible accident, heck I even lost my dog! I begged GOD and begged HIM to "take me home" I was actually playing that song by Genises or it could have been a release from just Phil Collins, called take me home. I was screaming and crying and beating my head on the wall in such agony I had never known before. And I do MEAN AGONY!!!
Well to tell you the truth that was it I was going to take my own life, and I had all I needed to do it. To this day I can not tell you what happened, but I woke up the next morning still on my floor but the sun was shinning and I just got up and did it. What did I do? NOTHING! God did it, He took ALL of that pain away in the blink of an eye and I moved out, got a new job, started a new life, and even dated some. It was like He had erassed my pain and it was just GONE! I can't say I did not have some down times after that, because I would be lying to you. We all go through tough seasons, but we have God to hold us tight through them all. Ask Him for His peace Brother and don't give up on Him, He would never give up on you! [IMG]
Now here I am 14 years later, oh my gosh I am old, anyway I have a wonderful Husband, 3 great kids and a life with God I would never throw away again! The blessing are there waiting for you Adam just let Him show them to you.
Do not try this alone, God put other Christians here to help you through all the bad times and celebrate the good times. I am there for you my brother in Christ! Prayers will be flowing to God! Hang on!
    Love in Christ Angie [IMG]

I suspect that the person who posted this has done as indicated and is not listening in. Therefore, a word for the rest of us. Reading a post such as this should emphasise the importance of considering how appropriate our words are when posting messages.Be sensitive to the position of others at all times.
    yours, Jon.

Man, I can totally relate to that!

What I did, and it helped me, although I didn't think it would, and actually had lost hope, I was giving up, throwing in the towel, is I told everyone how I felt, and asked them to pray for me , and one day I was able to pray again. And I made it through that hell-like place...where there is barely enough will to breath. I regained my faith...through the love of others, believe it or not.

I just prayed for you Adam, to recover your joy, to fix your broken heart, and to be bolstered up by all the prayer of all the people on this board.

    In Christ,

    Welcome back, HeDied4U!

So glad to see that you're ok! You gave us quite a scare, but in the meanwhile brought a lot of things into perspective!

Feeling better?! We all hope that you are!

God does answer prayer. Cling to that hope...and when you don't feel like you can...lean on me. Like I said...I've been there... I know that mustering up the courage to just care about anything, is sometimes monumentally difficult.

    Your on my list.

When thou passest through the waters I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned, neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
    Isaiah 43 verse 2
These words give me great comfort and encouragement when at a low ebb. This verse I have typed and framed and is by my bed, so I see it every day. [IMG]

Just remember this,God put Jonah in the belly of the whale, and put David in the cave hiding from Saul, and put Apostle Paul in prison.
Maybe you feel like it's dark all around you also.

After each of these people were brought to their lowest, they did mighty works for God because God has to break us all.
Paul wrote Ephesians while in jail,a profound work.Jonah preached to Nineveh, and the whole city, even the animals wore sackcloth.David brought the Ark,prepared the building of the temple, became a great king.
I was in the cave,or the belly,or jail, symbolically, awhile back. But be like David, and never quit pursuing God,it is us that leaves his side, you know, not Him that leaves us.The scripture that finally turned my life around to cross the river jordan of the victorious christain life was Acts 27-the story of Paul being on a ship that was in a storm for a fortnight.
Everything is there that is in all bad times.lifeboats(our own salvation)4 anchors(what we depend on to hold us through trials, however, they are not things of God)."I told you so"people.no food,(feasting on the Word of God).Throwing, unecessaries, and then, necessarries out of the boat(our lives).

Do like David, and tell God,why are the righteous cast down and the wicked prosper?read some of David's Psalms when he was in trouble, and whatever you do,don't give up on God,He's just moulding the clay
