I ran a systems check and it said my drive was working properly but it doesn't show up in My Computer or when I click "save to."

    Anyone heard of this before?

I had a bad drive. Replaced it and it is fine now.

Try reseating the cable. Both ends of it.

Make sure your computer is unplugged. Ground yourself by touching bare metal on your case before you touch anything inside of it.

Assuming you have rebooted, and all the above failed, go to start/control panel/system/hardware tab/device manager and see if there are any colored symbols that might give you a clue.

Where i go to school i work on computers all day long. We had a computer once that when you put in a CD you had to 'reinstall' the CD drive. Computer said that there was no CD drive or... i think it said something like it was working fine but it didn't show up on in My Computer. anway, you may have a similar problem. Try going to control panel, then click on Add hardware. Go through the setup. When a question, "Have you previously installed this hardware?" comes up click yes. Then select the floppy from the list and it should reinstall it fer ya. hope this helps.
